a lil question, I have 1 gig of Ram, Could I (If a brick would fall on my head) still install ME? or 98?

I think it has a 512 mb Ram limitation

Okay. I'm sorry...

Learning by doing :)

But you're right - that can't be the way of using an OS.

IMHO I would say Win98se is the most stable and user-friendly OS of the 9x-series fpr people w/o having any knowledge 'bout OS

You suck?

Just kidding. ;)

My dads Compaq came with Windows ME... do you think that it was stable?

NO! It wasn't, couldn't even play solitaire without GDI exception errors!

Americans really don't understand Irony do they?!?

No, and thats why Seinfeld, SNL, The Daily Show, David Letterman never really got off the ground . . .

(nor do we get coincidence for our inability to distinguish the 2)

ME sucks. It came preinstalled on a Dell laptop I purchased. I tried it for like 5 minutes. It sucked, seriously. I would rather use 3.11. the interface sucked, the speed sucked, everything about it was suckalicious. There was no video driver for ME on my Dell laptop that would show resolutions greater than 800x600 - plain stupid on Dells part.

XP has a great interface and great uptimes - the only crashes have been from errant Audigy Drivers.

NT4 rocked the house - the interface is dated tho.

Cant wait for Longhorn!!!!!!!!!

98 was fast when I applied 98lite. Lite PC Used to dual boot 2000/98SE; 98SE for games until XP.

I could jump on the bandwagon like everyone else and say how bad it sucks, however I never used it at home I used 98 then 2000 Pro. I'm in the IT business and I always just replace it with 2k. I think 98 sucks pretty bad too.

Sure you did.

The prob with me is that it was slooww. I tweaked it to the best I could. I got it almost upto speed with 98 but it was still a little off.

ha ha they made it stickey.

any ways ME sucks nuts. It's a bloated version of 98. I swear one day MS said "oops we where supposed 2 release a os this year, lets just take 98 and throw abunch of junk onto it."

imo
