DrunknMunky Veteran Posted September 22, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) Hey people, I need some help with Ubuntu. I've had experience with Linux in the past but I've not used it for a while and trying to remember quite a lot, so forgive me if I don't understand any of your suggestions right away. I'm having a problem with my wireless connection, currently it will only connect if I use DHCP and when I don't hide the SSID. However I want to manually assign an IP address and hide the network. At first I thought the wireless security was causing the problem but it turns out it wasn't and I can connect. I'm sure I am just over looking a setting hidden away in the menus that I don't know of, but I can't work it out. If you need me to provide any more details just ask. Ubuntu 8.04 LTS desktop Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG DM Edit: nevermind, I got it working by removing Gnome's Network Manager and using Wicd :).
