guruparan
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/cc817881.aspx "Unlike other virtual desktop utilities that implement their desktops by showing the windows that are active on a desktop and hiding the rest, Sysinternals Desktops uses a Windows desktop object for each desktop. Application windows are bound to a desktop object when they are created, so Windows maintains the connection between windows and desktops and knows which ones to show when you switch a desktop. That making Sysinternals Desktops very lightweight and free from bugs that the other approach is prone to where their view of active windows becomes inconsistent with the visible windows. Bazenga
Why I can't run firefox on two different desktops? It says that Firefox is already running but it's not responding (When I have firefox opened in one virtual desktop and I want to open it in another)
MMaster23
This is quite old actually. Microsoft had this functionality via the powertoys program for Windows XP for years now. Mark just updated the UI and optimized the code. Can't comment on the program itself as I don't run virtual desktops
guruparan
welcome..even i was waiting for a LIGHT WEIGHT tool like this!! (and do you all know wat..some other companies claims these (~100KB utlitlity ) to be a FEATURE of there advanced operating system lol ) Why I can't run firefox on two different desktops? It says that Firefox is already running but it's not responding (When I have firefox opened in one virtual desktop and I want to open it in another) Oops...Firefox seems to have this issue or bug.. I tried with IE, calc, Vs.net,office 2007...all it seems to be working properly..
Slugsie
Looks interesting, just two things. 1. The app its self is lightweight, but it's running 4 independant copies of Explorer. On this PC they're consuming ~25MB RAM each. 2. It needs some method of moving an app from one screen to another. But I suspect that given the way it works, this may not be possible. _dandy_
I see it hasn't been updated. It crashes on my XP x64 machine. There was another thread somewhere on Neowin about it when it came out.

Kami-
Disables Aero on all but the main desktop = Crap. Wake me when they put some effort into it :/ Hi, Tried it on Vista Ultimate 32 & 64bit, Vista Home Premium 32bit and it holds Aero on all 4 "screens"... Perhaps your system just doesn't have enough resources?

Perhaps your system just doesn't have enough resources? Pretty sure thats not the case. Might be my crappy gfx card though or yet another ATi driver problem.
