bob_c_b, didn't you have a Q9300 before? Why the move to the E8400?

I had one core stuck at 10c below the others and was having all kinds of odd issues. I swapped out all kinds of parts and did numerous reinstalls to no avail. I finally had enough the other day and decided that the only thing not replaced was the CPU, mobo and RAM so it was time. Not sure which one did but I got my stability back. I've got an RMA working with Intel so I'll likely swap it back in when it comes back and put this CPU in my wifes PC. Although maybe not as I hit 3.9 no sweat on this thing today, so we'll see.

After chasing a couple issues with my venerable P35-DS3L set up I scrapped the remaining parts I hadn't replaced with what is in the sig, much better now, rock stable for days...

Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000, great for low light conditions (my home office) and I use the mic for in game voice chat all the time, love it.

I have had a few updates since I last posted my setup. This is all in the loft upstairs, it is open to the living room downstairs, makes for better ventilation, etc. I also came to the quick realization that the other spare bedroom just wasn't big enough for all of my crap....

This is a 40" 1080P LCD from Toshiba, I picked it up about 2 months ago. I am running it at 1920x1080 via a DVI->HDMI adapter off the Compaq tower on the far right. It also has HDMI streams coming in from both the PS3 and the Apple TV.

These are the 4 1TB Acomdata USB 2.0 external drives that I just picked up from NewEgg.com a couple weeks back. They are daisy-chained to a USB 2.0 hub that then runs into my 802.11n router and they are then shared across my network.

All the gear that keeps the ship afloat, amplifier for rocking out, gigabit hub, modem, 802.11n router, subwoofer, etc.

From L->R, 40GB Apple TV, 80GB PS3, Compaq D50 2.4, 512 (yeah, that's right, 512 of RAM), etc, etc.

This is my MacBook Pro from Spring 2007, it is right after they introduced the Core2Duo chips, I upgraded the RAM to 2GB so that I can start running VMs on it. We are (normally) connected at the hip whenever I travel. However, after buying a 16GB iPhone 3G, I am considering leaving it behind the next time I fly out to visit the folks.

Here is the computer that I use to remote in to work occasionally, other than that it just sits there. And yes, those are 4 500GB drives just "sitting there". They were made obsolete by the Acomdata drives, but I will find a home for them eventually.

Here's my setup.....the red switches turn the blue backlights on/off, the orange switches turn the pumps on/off once we hibernate the computers at night.

The monitors on the left are 26", the ones on the right are 30" center, 19" on the sides (turned sideways) and a 24" Apple cinema display on the top.

The cooling system in-between the computers has 3 total pumps (computer on the right has dual-processor) for a total of ~1800 GPH flowing through the 4x heat exchangers suspended under the table (that is where the blue light on the middle table is coming from, the fans on the heat exchangers).

The bottom-left (silver long box) is a BOXX render farm, 2 nodes, 2x quad-cores per node (total of 8 cores per node, 16 for the entire system).

EDIT: Nighttime photo coming when it gets dark here.

And the image was combined with Windows Live Photo Viewer (as a panoramic) which is why theres some distortion and some blurry area's with perfectly clear area's to the right of them.
