markwolfe Veteran Posted October 2, 2008 Veteran Share Posted October 2, 2008 I am going to guess that it makes a big difference if it is for KDE or for Gnome. ;)
David Scaife
As markjensen said, it depends on your desktop environment. If you know where a working icon set is located on your computer, you should be able to copy the directory structure and the icon names from there. If don't know where to look for that, then I guess tell us which distribution you are using and whether you're using KDE or Gnome, .
Elv13
in both case, copy it to /usr/share/icons the icons stuff are freedesktop specification, not desktop environement spec. Both of them made some modification to it, but it related mostly to naming convention of custom stuff. Where local theme are stored is different if you use gnome or KDE, so use the default location (/usr/shares/icons)
