2.1 system similar to this one?

any particular reason this model stands out for you?

I live in a condo so don't want wires everywhere, so prefer the 2.1 type setups.

HDMI passthrough too. That's probably main reason.

Not sure of your budget, but allow me to suggest the following item:

Klipsch: CS-700 2.1 Home Theater with DVD and Wireless Audio

Features

* DVD/CD player, AM/FM tuner

* HDMI output with 1080i up-conversion

* Satellite/cable input, two auxiliary inputs with component output

* Dolby? Virtual Speaker technology

* Wirelessly broadcasts CD-quality audio*

No Muss, No Fuss Setup >

Available in a sleek black finish, the CS-700 home entertainment system offers a clean, modern design that fits comfortably into any living environment. Essentially plug-and-play, it can be operating in as little as 10 minutes. All it takes is hooking the satellites and TV up to the A/V center using the color-coded wiring, then plugging in the A/V center?s power cord. With respect to the subwoofer, all you have to do is plug its power cord into the wall; no other connections are needed.

I've thought of exploring the 2.1 path in the past.

At this point I don't want nor can I afford a full system for 5.1 surround sound. However, the idea

of some external speakers with some real bass certainly sounds appealing. The built-in speakers on

my LCD have grown on me, but they are no match for a decent to excellent 2.1 system. Thanks for

the info!
