dysmatik
Will the next release of Ubuntu include all the necessary drivers for the recent Intel MacBooks? I know you have to manually install/config all the drivers in the current 8.04 release. I just would like it preloaded for faster installs. White Cuban
thats odd, i'm having hard time beliving that intel based chipset(which is used in so many macs) isn't supported, are you sure? did you try?, or is this all based on googlability (if it is, check the dates if there are)
Elv13
It is not about the chipsset, it is about pommed, the daemon enabling the keys, sensor and keyboard backlight (on mac book pro). It is not installed by default, but apt-get install pommed just work. Drivers are there, just no enabled by default (they need pommed, like a logitech g15 need its daemon too). About the webcam, they work by default on most mac. And abut the remote, I never actually used it, it was not supported when I bought my mac book pro in juin 2007, we tried to make a patch, but we failed, I don't know the state of this now. dysmatik
Here's what has to be done with 8.04: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBook so, basically, no everything does not "just work" after install I would just like to know if it will with the next release.
