Introducing Shiftiquity

Recommended Posts

I got assigned a little task tonight by bma, which is to design a full screen installer for Shift. Always up for a challenge, I gave it my best.

So, I've come up with the original name "shiftiquity". The idea is to make installing Shift so ridiculously simple, but also so ridiculously run, that people would use it purely to see the installation screens :p

So, here's the mockup:

We want to get working on implementing it as soon as possible, but if you have criticisms, go ahead. Don't hold back, it'll just make things a pain later ;)

Obviously, this is influenced from the Shift website mainly, but the real goal was to make things obvious. The Next button is bigger than the Back and Help buttons, so the users eyes jump to it when they get to that part of the screen. Icons are used to describe the different parts of the installer. And the whole thing is very easy on the eyes: no fancy backgrounds, just a swoosh and the iconic Shift logo with the gradient. Doesn't it sound lusher than it looks? :p

Brilliant, Simon.

It looks awesome, as always..... "Halpp" button on the bottom should say "Help"...

Can't wait to see it in full swing! (Y)

Come on, every mockup needs an easter egg (Halpp) :p

Then it should read: "Click the ? icon to get Halpp"

I liek it, but I think the main text should be a little more whiter to contrast with the dark background. Also, the buttons are too gray IMHO, and should match the buttons Shift's desktop theme will have.
