MySql Tutorial.....or something?


Question

Ok, i'm a n00b with http servers....or most servers acctually, all i know anything about is ftp :blush: . anyway, i installed IIS 5.1 and that worked fine, then i installed php and that automaticly configured IIS so it all worked fine. now i want to install mysql and get it to work with iis, and thst where i'm stuck. does anyone know of a good, in depth, tutorial on how to accomplish this?

All you have to do is download the setup program, its pretty self explanitory. MySQL is not tied in any way to IIS, its a server all by itself that runs on port 3306.

well, i think i installed it all fine. i guess i need info on using it, i think i need to create a databace. you see, i'm trying to get invision to work. anyone know any tutorials on configuring and that kind of stuff? i dont much like the manual that comes with mysql

ok well, i have solved all my configuring problems. i found a nice little tool: phpMyAdmin

phpMyAdmin is the most popular database management tool on the web.
