Hey guys. I've been using a MX518 for about a year now, it's been a really well behaved mouse but i'm looking to upgrade into something better. Any recommendations on which mouse I should get? I do light gaming and photoshop work if that helps in your recommendations.

Thanks!

EDIT: I'm looking for something VERY ergonomic!

If you want to keep the same feel, you can look to the G5 v2 or G7 (wireless).

The only thing I do no like about my G5 v2 is the wheel hump. It's quite high when compared to the MX500/510/518. Other than that, the G5 v2 is a good replacement for a MX500/510/518 user. I also have a first gen G5, and the G5 v2 is the one you want to get, since it adds the extra thumb button, as seen on the MX series.

I have the Razer Copperhead and it doesn't suit me well. It's not quite so ergo but it caters to both lefties and righties, whereas the MX and G series I spoke about are only righties. I have not tried any of the other mice to tell you first hand at how they compare. Hope someone can help you out there.

If I were you, I might look at keeping the MX518, unless it is really wearing out. One of the biggest plusses to go with the G series is the mouse feet as they don't offer alot of resistance during movement(which is a big plus for some/most gamers).

I only really mentioned the mouse that I have tried. Only the G7 I don't have, but I figure it's the same as the G5 only heavier.

The Logitech MX Revolution is quite a nice mouse too, and may fit your needs more than a full out gamer mouse.

The MX Revolution does seem like a good alternative. But i've read some reviews and it's plagued by it random disconnects and by being dead on arrival. I love outside the US. So I have to order it, get it sent to PO BOX, then wait for it to be shipped here. So if my unit did come defective i'm basically throwing away 100$ + Shipping .

Anyone here have any experience with the MX Revolution?

I got an MX Rev about 4/5 days ago, and I'm loving it. I was using the S510 k/m combo and the Revolution blows it out the water. Such a nice mouse :)

I love the S510 best keyboard I've ever owned. What OS are you using your mouse in? And if it was'nt too much trouble what are your system specs.

100% any razer mouse. Use to be a huge logitech fan but after razer, no going back.

As I understand it Razer mouse are good for gaming for their high dpi and whatnot. But they just don't seem to comfortable to me. They really downplay ergonomics on those mice. I've been using computers for about 10 years now and probably will for another 40. I would'nt like to suffer from carpal tunnel or chronic tendinitis just because of a non ergonomic mouse.

I've been using one for about a year I think, and it's great, best mouse I've ever had. Very customisable, loads of buttons, great scroll wheel, and it's never disconnected once.

I also have a DeathAdder just for gaming. I'd never use it as a day to day mouse, the scroll wheel is too stiff (which is great in games) and while my hand rests on it, I always right click by accident because the button is so sensitive (again, great for games).

EDIT: LOL you changed your name while I was replying, I wondered wtf was going on! You know you can only change it so many times right?

So I guess the Revolution it is :p . I'll be getting it in a month or so I hope and I'll post a review after that.

@ DARKFiB3R : Yeah you can only change it twice in 90 days i think. But i used up one change cause I did'nt read so now i'm stuck for the next 90 days. Anyways it's my name:).

Heh, I'm using it under Windows XP SP2, with specs that can run Crysis at low-med settings. E6400 CPU, 2gb RAM, etc.

Also, the S510 is a really great set, but since my mate gave me an old DiNovo Edge he didn't use, I'll be using that when I can contact Logitech about a charger for it :)

thought i'd post this here.... the roccat kone is released, http://www.roccat.org/Products/Products/ROCCAT-Kone/ maybe you could give it a try

Wow that is a really nice looking mouse. I love how the leds change to whatever you want. My gripes are. WAY too expensive, i can't really justify 140$ US for a mouse. Not as ergonomic looking as the MX Revolution. WIRED. I want to reduce wires not add on more.

Anyways if I strike on a pot of gold i'd get it for sure :p . THANK!

    • Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion to bring snowy region, new updates also coming by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Capcom had a surprise waiting for Dragon's Dogma fans today in the Nintendo Direct presentation. The company revealed an expansion for the second installment with a name that should be familiar to series veterans. Coming later this year, Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is promising a massive new region to explore, new monsters, fresh skills to learn, and more. The studio says players will be heading to the Northern region of the world, named Norgan, to find new secrets about an undying "Fallen Dragon." There will be forgotten relics that the protagonist can find to unlock fresh weapons and skills the expansion is introducing. Players will also be able to find mysterious equipment from a previous Arisen as a part of the expansion, all part of 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges they must complete to gain access. In Neowin's own review, I found Dragon's Dogma 2 to be an impressive RPG when it launched back in 2024, giving the title an 8.5/10 for its class variants, companion system, and immersive exploration. "Once a prosperous region of the kingdom of Vermund, it was abandoned many years ago for reasons unknown," says Capcom about the new region. "Long has it been since any soul traveled its paths. Blanketed in heavy snow, these frigid lands are home to savage hordes and creatures of unbelievable power. Those who are capable of vanquishing such fearsome foes, or those who possess a keen eye for exploration, will find themselves rewarded with powerful relics." Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion launches on October 9, 2026, with a $29.99 price tag. Ahead of the expansion release, Capcom is also planning to release two free updates to the base game. The first will land tomorrow, June 10, bringing more accessible fast travel with an Eternal Ferrystone and other quality-of-life adjustments. The second update will land sometime in August, aiming to improve frame rates, add more save slots, and bring even more community-requested adjustments. This expanded Dark Arisen edition is also launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day the content comes to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

    • Good point, unfortunately. NextDNS has far more filters and workarounds than uBlock, and it's easy to implement.
