aduk85
Im currently using PHPBB but as there are not many posts in there i am looking to migrate to the same version of the forums that Neowin use but i have no idea what they are. Could someone possibly tell me the backend forum software that Neowin uses?

Harreh
There are a some things changed here and there, and the dev team don't release their alterations so you may try and get something set up like neowin but can't.

Yeah Neowin is like the high end of customization but if you have the skills and the time you can really make something awesome!
SMELTN
Yeah Neowin is like the high end of customization but if you have the skills and the time you can really make something awesome! Agreed, my guild was looking at using Invision Power board, but we decided to use phpbb3 instead. IPB is awesome if you can devote the time to make it really stand out like the guys at Neowin has done.

Well the Devs here have done quite a job of keeping this forum up and running and looking so good. With the number of users online at any given time being as high as it is. Kudos to Kudos and the rest. (Y)
sn00pie
I used to use vBulletin a few years ago for my websites... I've always felt it was more easier to work on and more secure too. I'm interested to hear why Neowin is run on IPB instead of something like vBulletin? I love the way Neowin looks right now, I'm just curious as to why. :)

what
Security isn't an issue for IPB at the moment. I believe the latest version has no known exploits. No doubt that'll change when IPB 3 is released, though.
Matrix XII
IPB is the best board out there if you ask me. I'm not sure about all the security stuff, but as far as usability goes, it's the best.
