Bateau Posted August 16, 2001 Share Posted August 16, 2001 The exact number of changes is yet to be officially confimed by Microsoft. The most prevalent rumor is that its 8 changes before WPA will require you to call support. Changing mobo may not, necessarily, invalidate your activation. 3-4 of the 10 components that comprise the WPA hash are allowed to be changed withouth the overall hash becoming invalid. Trick is which 3 or 4. Changing MB/CPU will affect your IDE controller identification string and your CPU model string. That's only 2 out of 10. Let us know.
