Guest jgrodri
Hello everyone. my dealings with linux started when a few months a go i decided to setup a home server (via smb). I still prefer apple for my daily use but i've found linux intriguing and challenging so i'm not ready to let go of it yet :) I recently heard of a script called el tunes that allows you to play your iTMS bought song on any player that uses the gstreamer codecs. Development has stoped for it since apple was going after them both legally and by changing the authorization method in itunes 8.0 To my understanding the program hasn't been declared illegal, the developer just stopped to about a legal battle. My problem is that i can't seem to find the deb package to install anywhere on the internet other than bittorrent. Sadly, my uni bans all torrents so can't really get it that way. Could anyone here PM or post a link to get it from? Thanks a bunch. If el tunes does happen to be illegal please ignore my post, i don't want to cause any trouble. Kreuger
Have you checked el-tunes.com? The download is right there on their page.
Elv13
It is not the right software. I tried to find a direct link, more than 20 have been taken down by apple. But you can also remove the DRM (I don't think I can talk more about that here). Check your country law, it may even be legal (I heard some bad things about those IP law in Germany, I don't think it is legal but I did not check)
Guest jgrodri
thanks for the help guys. Removing the DRM (by burning of CD and re-ripping is such a pain... i'll wait and use that option as a last resort. I don't really want to remove the DRM via shady software, I'd like to keep it legal or at least within reason.
