Adam1V
my windows PC is narked, but i cant loose the data. Im ideally looking for a decent LiveCD which I can boot from and scan my hard disks for virus/spyware. I've looked at Linuxdefender but of the mirrors appear to be down. Does anyone have any recommendations? It needs to be all on one CD, I burn the CD, boot off it, and scan. I dont want to be messing around with BartPE and creating disks etc. thanks,
David Scaife
Edit: Ignore me. Just realised the torrent links were down too. There are other torrent links on other sites that you could search for, I don't know how popular the torrents would be though. Edit #2: This blog post looks quite handy; it explains how you can use Knoppix and ClamAV to run virus scans from the live cd. markwolfe Veteran Posted October 14, 2008 Veteran Share Posted October 14, 2008 If you already have a Linux LiveCD running, even existing providers you may already use, like Avast, have Linux executables and can be used to do a scan.
