koftheworld
Hello, Using Firefox 3.0.3, I am not able to see a blank text box below the toolbar. Any ideas? It works fine in IE.

ViZioN
Works fine here on Firefox 3.0.3 and Windows Vista x64. Does it happen if you disable your extensions?
+Gary7 Subscriber² Posted October 20, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted October 20, 2008 It works for me using Fx 3.0.3. Make sure that one of your extensions is not hiding the image.

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted October 20, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted October 20, 2008 ^ Thanks, but didn't seem to fix it :/ Only quick reply works. FF 3.1 beta 1 for what it's worth!
+Gary7 Subscriber² Posted October 20, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted October 20, 2008 ^Thanks, but didn't seem to fix it :/ Only quick reply works. FF 3.1 beta 1 for what it's worth! Make sure that there is not an image blocker in Adblock Plus that is blocking anything on Newin. Also try it in safe mode, if everything displays OK then it has to be an extension causing it. FF 3.1 beta 1 for what it's worth! Ok, I found what the problem was...Adblock Plus! I search for "neowin" in the filters, deleted it, and then applied the settings. Now, everything is back to normal. I wonder why that happened? Thank all of you for the suggestions!

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted October 20, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted October 20, 2008 Seems it's the subscription I have causing the issues :/ ( http://easylist.adblockplus.org/ ) Even although NW is whitelisted it causes the reply box issue. Using the same subscription with Neowin whitelisted I don't have any issues with replying. Odd. Are you sure that no other extension is interfering? +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted October 20, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted October 20, 2008 (edited) Using the same subscription with Neowin whitelisted I don't have any issues with replying. Odd.Are you sure that no other extension is interfering? It's EasyElement causing the issues http://easylist.adblockplus.org/easylist-element_rick752.txt 2. Add EasyElement"the secondary subscription for removing text ads & leftover spaces" You may not have subscribed to it, a lot of people just subscribe to the main list! Just removed it for now, doesn't really bother me. Don't understand why it would interfere though, I thought when you added a site to the whitelist it was void of all blocking? Brian M. Veteran Posted October 20, 2008 Veteran Share Posted October 20, 2008 Working fine here (Firefox 3.0.3 on OSX)
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted October 20, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted October 20, 2008 Found the exact issue. EasyElement for whatever reason actually has 3 entries from NW on the subscription :/ Those are neowin.net#div(id=content-main-square)neowin.net#div(id^=rev-) neowin.net#div(style*=none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip:) Disable them and everything works fine. Going to send a message to the author or easylist asking why on earth they were implemented in the list?
gshapiro
Author removed these lines. Update your subscriptions and all should be back to normal.

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted October 21, 2008 Veteran Share Posted October 21, 2008 It shouldn't even do the element blocking if the site is whitelisted :/
Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted October 21, 2008 Global Moderator Share Posted October 21, 2008 It shouldn't even do the element blocking if the site is whitelisted :/ I was talking about this code: neowin.net#div(id=content-main-square) neowin.net#div(id^=rev-) neowin.net#div(style*=none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip:) Someone posted that, to prevent ads from appearing at the bottom of the page... he originally posted it for "Stylish", but I don't know how it slipped into Adblock Plus
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted October 21, 2008 Veteran Share Posted October 21, 2008 Because it's from the AdBlock subscription (parts of it were in my adblock too) But, AdBlock shouldn't apply those rules if the site is whitelisted.
rick752
But, AdBlock shouldn't apply those rules if the site is whitelisted. At the moment, #element-hiding rules (like in the EasyElement) CANNOT be whitelisted in ABP. This is a bug with Adblock Plus that was fixed in Firefox 2 ... but then was broken again in Firefox 3. The individual rule that causes the problem can easily be deactivated on the subscription simply by clicking the bullet after that particular string. Another bug in ABP is that any active #element-hiding rules will only show up in the "Blockable items" window ONLY the first time you visit a site where that rule is used. Any other page on that domain will not show the same rule again (even though they still work). If you need to see what element rules are in effect on a page, just disable and re-enable ABP again (middle-click the icon) and they will re-appear at that point ... but only once.
