ILMagic
Anyone know why there is so much lag when you play games on the internet with the xbox? If everyone has broadband, shouldnt it be faster then internet games like HalfLife:Counter Strike (where I rarely have lag)?

Administrators Posted December 3, 2001 Administrators Share Posted December 3, 2001 erm, well not everyone has broad band LOL even the companies that SELL "broadband" are not actually broadband with the crappy connections they offer (or rather do not offer)
ILMagic
Well, even so, shouldnt I be getting atleast the same speed I get off games like CounterStrike?

Well, considering MS hasn't launched their network yet, one could assume latency will be bad. If you're using that Halo netplay thing, it's not official. Iirc, you're faking the Xbox into thinking it's on a LAN, thus it's sending very large packets back and forth. It's not optimized for online play.
