Longhorn Fusion's Longhorn M7 R1

Recommended Posts

A prerelease of the Longhorn M7 theme is out. 5000 people are going to roll their eyes and say "Again with Longhorn :(" But whatever.

First off I would like to thank Andreas Verhoeven aka Ave for letting me create this theme in his amazing program, Vista Style Builder (previously AveStyle).

History:

We all know about Savoury's Target: Longhorn right? The theme that had a promised date of February 2nd, 2008? Well after he didn't show, the Longhorn fans grew irritated. All he did was tease 'n' leave. The Longhorn Fusion Team, at this point still working on LHIE and the old LHE, quickly gave notice. After a while we decided to hop on board and have a "have at it" ourselves. The problem was the large navigation buttons. (Which after research we found he did the same thing with the 97dpi.) After word went around (can't remember who found it) all hell broke loose in Longhorn themes. However we didn't just focus on the buttons. We focused on the experience. We kept adding things until Beta II. At this point nothing else could be done. Well we continuously poked around trying to make breakthroughs. Not much though. It wasn't until UK.Intel recommended me to Ave to help him with some naming for VSB. From June 10th, 2008 until September 3rd, 2008 I've used this amazing program and I still find new things everyday! I've added...

  • Taskbar glow.
  • Address bar glow.
  • Multiple DPI image settings.
  • Extensive Margin editing.
  • Composited Programs list.
  • Advanced Start menu panel.
  • Aero Wizard.
  • ReBar image for large buttons.
  • Extended ReBar glass.
  • Curve shell overlay.
  • Custom notification balloons.
  • Custom Search Home image.
  • Jade styled group menus.
  • Properly alpha channeled images.
  • Aero specific More Programs label.

and more using his amazing program. I highly recommend buying it.

Etc:

If you use this theme please report bugs in this order.

  • DPI: (96dpi, 97dpi, 120dpi, Other (Specify))
  • Architecture: (x86 | x64)
  • Substyle: (Aero | Jade | Athens)

Hey PandaX, I'm also making a skin with VSB (my first one) and I would love to get some support from you if you have time via messenger or whatever.

You seem to have played with the VSB for some time now.

Nice VS, btw :)

longhorn is the codename of vista

I always get a good chuckle out of these kind of posts.

1) Longhorn is no more - it became Vista. It's only a name. If you want to be that anal about a name for a software project, then the Longhorn Bar that stands midway between the Whistler (Codename for Windows XP) and Blackcomb (Previous codename for what will be Windows 7) should have sued Microsoft for trademark infringement.

2) This is not an OS, but a collection of theme components.

I've only steered you in the right direction - where you go from here is up to you.
