Michael1406
I beat the game with AI Sheva, now I don't really want to have to do that again. Barely anyone on my list plays RE5...seem to all be on FIFA or Pro instead.
+Mystic MVC Posted April 6, 2009 MVC Share Posted April 6, 2009 Turn off the lights in each corner of that level, makes it easier from what I have read.Actually on that very part as well. We gave it one shot then both had to go, probably will finally have the game beat maybe today. I meant that part where you face him in the house first. Emily_June
Yes I know, but if you shoot him enough apparently he will retreat leaving the "Heart of Africa" diamond behind. He does, and it's pretty easy, but yes, it does seem to take forever to damage him enough. My boyfriend and I basically cornered him, and while one was shooting (my boyfriend had his magnum with unlimited ammo), the other stood behind him, waiting for opportunities for a quick-time attack. It's insanely easy to chain a bunch of attacks against this guy, too, as long as you're quick enough--and those dish out quite a chunk of damage. The real pain in the ass is Jill, standing off to the side shooting you constantly. Once you've damaged him enough, the heart of Africa, a heart-shaped diamond, will be between those two staircases. May I just add that I've been enjoying the hell out of this game? -Emily

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted April 7, 2009 Veteran Share Posted April 7, 2009 Well, the DLC is out, and it's 1.86MB in size! http://www.vg247.com/2009/04/07/re5-versus...-186mb-in-size/ Didn't Capcom deny the DLC was included on the disk? This pretty much proves otherwise :/

GameOverRob
might do tonight, but the footie is on so either before or after that and depending on the result I might not be in the mood to play lol :p
FlibbyFlobby
I seem to remember downloading a 30mb patch which added trophies for the new game modes. It could quite easily be that plenty of the code and menu artwork was in there. Either way a megabyte or so for game mode code doesn't sound unrealistic to me. neoadorable
wow Rob...that was an extra 200 MS points right? for how many GS? tsk tsk. as for RE5, after a week or so of playing i'm about half way done, and this is now my first GOTY nominee. quite amazing as i was very skeptical of this game initially, disliked the demo, not a RE fan at all, and frankly unappreciative of Capcom's tendency to make hard games. but i'm smitten with RE5 and all is forgiven. Plus Sheva's bounce will come in HANDY later on, if you know what i mean.
Stinky Newb
So, how is Vs. mode? Worth it??
GameOverRob
It's not bad, but it should have been free. Entirely depends on how many friends you have that would also buy the content. Because I certainly wouldn't have bought it if 3 other friends hadn't bought it. It the kind of multi-player that is more enjoyable playing with people that you know. Stylez Ray.
What ****es me off is that we will not get the VS DLC here in Germany. But the trophies are still in the list so there's no chance of getting real 100% here. Damn
Scirwode
My friend and I are nearly finished with the game, the problem is we've gotten stuck on the Final Boss fight. When Said Boss whips out his gigantic tentacles, we both run back across the path where Chris will fall down and I, using Sheva will be on top. As boss jumps down, my friend jumps across and punches said rock following the controls given on screen. We have no problem when it comes to the fact we have to shoot Said Boss in the back and then he jumps towards me. This is where the problem starts as when I cross a precarious ledge it crumbles and I press the button on the screen as fast as I can, but no matter what I do, I still fall into my flaming death. We've done all the different sequences but no matter how fast I press or bash the controllers, she still falls. Am I missing a sequence or something or am I doing it wrong? Strangely enough, the other boss fight was easy, aim rocket launcher, fire, hold, and inject. This one however is seriously starting to make me mad  ! Olemus
The person whos playing chirs need sot carry on shooting at the boss with a rifle while shiva trys to get back up onto the ledge. This makes the boss focus on chris and not hit sheva off the ledge.
Scirwode
The person whos playing chirs need sot carry on shooting at the boss with a rifle while shiva trys to get back up onto the ledge. This makes the boss focus on chris and not hit sheva off the ledge. The problem is even with the Boss far away, I still fall no matter how many times I type X. It's frustrating because for me to be faster, I have to bash my controller on the floor. AbandonedTrolley
I realise it's a thread revivial, but I was so bored this morning at 4am I decided to give this a go on the PS3. Can't believe how old it feels. The combat system is just awful. Having just played through Uncharted and MW2 the thought of being stuck to the floor to shoot/attack is like something from the 80's! Really can't see myself being bothered to play through this, which is sad as I used to love them. Really can't remember me thinking this was an issue with RE4 on the Gamecube. How times have changed.... :(

Corris Veteran Posted November 14, 2009 Veteran Share Posted November 14, 2009 It's just the game mechanic they chose. Such things can't really be outdated, just preferred/not preferred. I would disagree, it was a game mechanic that was in place due to the style of game-play with the limitations of the consoles of the day. Now its stale and is just artificially trying to make the game scary/harder, yet games like Dead Space give people full range of movement while pulling it off just the same, if not better. I personally can't stand to play it next to games that have these days, one of the biggest things people wanted from the game was a new, better way of controlling the characters. Hopefully Resident Evil 6 will be able to move on. But of course this is just my opinion on it.
