RE2

I quite liked Code Veronica as well.

But yea, RE1 style remakes for those titles would be awesome. RE1 remake is great.

I read on EG (don't worry it was a quote not speculation) that one of the creators would do RE2/3 remakes if there was enough demand. I think we need to get an online petition going people.

Better be a proper remakes if they happen.

They already "remade" RE2/Code Veronica and RE3 for the gamecube - They were just crappy ports though.

They weren't remakes at all though were they. RE2 was a port that had extra stuff in (Battle Mode) + EX files IIRC, but re3 didn't even have that.

After playing the demo, it just feels like a bad port of RE4 with updated graphics. Maybe I need to play it a few times, but the other RE games (except Code:Veronica X) hooked me in quick. I agree that it moves too slow, even turning... I dunno. I don't like the SP AI "co-op". This went from must-buy to probably rent pretty quick.\\

And did they pull Chris out of a stint in Steet Fighter?

Eurogamer was also yelling racism when SoF:Payback (an awful game, but that's not the point) was being reviewed. I think they're just overly sensitive or something.

Anyways, I'm quite happy to hear that mercenaries mode is unlockable. I loved mercenaries in RE4. I think I invested an equal amount of time into mercs as I did for the main story.

Care to explain what Mercenaries is as I never played it on RE4

It's an arcade style mode where you had to kill and survive hordes of enemies for a period of time. In RE4 for example you could play on the village level and there were barrels containing bonuses like a time extension. You can see a video of it

. It's really fun, especially since you could play as other characters (Wesker, Ada, Hunk etc) if you unlocked them with high scores.

+2

Has anyone reported what the game length is like yet? I'm really hoping it's similar to RE4. I remember that feeling when I thought I was at the end of RE4, then it turned out there was tons more left. Joy I think it's called. :D

i remember getting that feeling after completing the castle only to get a huge suprise

^nope, i hadnt noticed and looking at my sig, i wonder why :p ;) jk

Well I gather it happens in the 360 version a bit too, albeit not as constant. It's certainly not unplayable, but can be a little choppy at times. The demo is still on the US store PSN store though so I'm not sure what's going on there. :s

UK mag: Resident Evil 5 is less than 8 hours long

By Patrick Garratt

Brit mag Xbox World 360?s confirmed that its first play through of Resident Evil 5 lasted less than eight hours.

?As previously stated our first completion time, minus cut-scenes, was seven hours, thirty-six minutes and one second,? the mag said on its blog.

?For reference purposes, the total length of all the game?s cut-scenes clocks in at 80 minutes.

?This time was achieved in single player and on the normal difficulty. This was not a speed-run, nor were we pressured for time, and was not, as suggested, merely the time to complete the first three chapters of preview code.?

There?s more through the link. Resident Evil 5 ships on MarSource: VG247 VG247[/url]

Sucks :( But at least I'm not paying full price for it.

Damn :(

I remember RE4 took me about 15 hours or something.

It's not a bad length at all, just coming off of RE4 it seems a little short. Plus cutscenes count, the final game time above is over 8 hours

My only worry is playing Co-Op with two good players will equal an even shorter playthrough - Unless enemies scale good enough in difficulty.

@AB, I don't remember you complaining with MGS4 and the length of its cutscenes. What was that, like a 30 min demo, 6 hour movie?

I kid I kid.

@Rob, yeah thats what my preorder is with the ?5 voucher applied. I think the RRP has gone up actually for everyone else who hasn't preordered.
