xp1ode Posted October 25, 2008 Share Posted October 25, 2008 usually when i had this problem it just meant that grub had the wrong drive listed as my boot drive. All that i did was edit the line where it shows what boot drive you are using and try different ones, sd1, sda2 etc... Of course i have more than 2 drives and more than 2 partitions on some drives so, i had alot of digging to do. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Specifically any music players or any external drives or phones? These might be detected as a drive and throw off your drive numbering. I think that if you use UUID drive identification, then you don't have this problem, but I have never run into something like this, so it is just guesswork for me at this point.
