BajiRav
My wife has started browsing neowin, she has been using my own login for past few days. I suggested her to open an account for herself (so that she can have a proper unread view and post her own opinions, argue, get warned or banned :p etc) and then I got concerned about we both posting from same connection and sometimes same computer. If we start using different logins from same IP/computer - does my nick (or her for that matter) get flagged for a duplicate account?
obiwong
it shouldn't my brother and i have had neowin accounts for a long time now and we've never had any problems
Mel
It would probably be more of a problem if she registered with the same email account you used to register.
Brian M. Veteran Posted October 27, 2008 Veteran Share Posted October 27, 2008 Nope, wont be a problem. If you PM me (or another staffer) her username we'll make a note of it in case it does pop up in the future, however, the chances of it being flagged are very unlikely (someone would have to have a reason to check :p). Fred Derf Veteran Posted October 27, 2008 Veteran Share Posted October 27, 2008 We do not have a blanket one account per IP rule. We do, however, have a "Sins of the Father" policy so if one account from a particular IP gets into warning/restriction/suspension/banning trouble then we look carefully at the other accounts on that IP to see if that person is circumventing our discipline. Two or more mostly well-behaving accounts on the same IP will not be a problem. Even the occasional warning will not cause trouble as you would need to be a habitual trouble-maker to really get our attention in this matter.
