bayrider
I got the Dlink WBR 1310 (free with my laptop), set it up on Friday and all was good. The wireless and regular network speeds were consistent with what I had on my old router and when I am connected straight to my DSL modem (SBC/AT&T) at roughly 5100-5200kbps down and 6-700 down. Since last night however, my speeds have been about half that or less. It's also very up and down in terms of speed but never more than 3000kbps and as low as 800kbps. I upgraded to the latest firmware B1 2.02 and I see no difference at all. When I plug in my old router (non wireless Linksys) or connect the modem direct to the PC, my speeds go back to normal 5100-5200 kbps.
CPressland
If it were free, i'd argue that it's not a very good router, thus the poor performance you're seeing
bayrider
I read a lot of reviews and it was 50/50 between good and bad. That said, whether it's a good router or not, nothing change between yesterday and today yet my speeds are half of what they were.
