Vista themes question - is my uxtheme.dll ok?

Recommended Posts

All my downloaded themes are simply listed as 'Windows Aero'

They apply fine, but browsing the appearance control panel for them is a PITA, since the previews don't work perfectly... and they're all simply named 'Windows Aero'...

Is this a symptom of the newness of Vista theming, or is this a symptom of a bad uxtheme.dll patch?

I did some searching, but didn't find any threads about this...

That's normal. It's just how they're listed in Vista. There's nothing wrong with how you patched uxtheme or anything.

Why, nothing's wrong with what he is seeing, its NORMAL.

What's wrong is every theme will show Aero or Basic. With the deskhack it shows the theme's name. Yes it normal, but when it can be better, why not make it?
