cultavix Posted October 28, 2008 Share Posted October 28, 2008 i have a very, very big text file (about 800,000 lines) and I would like to import all of this data into Excel. excel only lets me import about 65,536 lines so I need a tool to help me break the file up into different sections (part 1, 2, 3, 4...) and then import them one by one into different workbooks. anyone know how i can use notepad++ for this? bokajinn Posted October 28, 2008 Share Posted October 28, 2008 You can use Microsoft Word and save it as a .txt. What I do, is do my first dump then scroll to the last line dumped and make a note of it. Then go back to the .txt file and delete everything up to that line I made a note of. Then dump that into a seperate workbook and so on and so forth until I have all of it in excell. Then you can copy past them all into one workbook. Tedious? yes, but it works for me.
