Most Intelligent movies ever?

Pee-wee: I wouldn't sell my bike for all the money in the world. Not for a hundred million, trillion, billion dollars!

Francis: Then you're crazy!

Pee-wee: I know you are but what am I?

Francis: You're a nerd!

Pee-wee: I know you are but what am I?

Francis: You're an idiot!

Pee-wee: I know you are but what am I?

Pee-Wee, Francis: I know you are but what am I? I know you are but what am I? I know you are but what am I? Pee-wee: Infinity!

Francis: No, I'm not.

Francis, Pee-Wee: You are! No way! Knock it off! Cut it out!

Francis: Shut up, Pee-wee!

Pee-wee: Why don't you make me.

Francis: You make me!

Pee-wee: Because. I don't make monkeys, I just train 'em.

Francis: Pee-wee listen to reason.

[Pee-Wee cuffs his hand around his ear in a listening motion]

Francis: Pee-wee!

Pee-wee: Sh! I'm listening to reason.

Francis: Pee-wee!

Pee-wee: That's my name, don't wear it out.

Francis: Remember the first time I saw your bike? You came riding past my house and I came running out to tell you how much I liked it even way back then?

Pee-wee: I love that story.

[jumps on bike and pedals away]

Francis: You'll be sorry, Pee-wee Herman!

The single most intelligent movie was "The Man From Earth".

No action, no special effects. Strictly monologue but it holds

your attention throughout.

Jerome Bixby should receive an award for it, if he hasn't already.

thanks for that movie. definately will have to check it out.

I'm not sure why some of you think boring = intelligent. 2001: A Space Odyssey. This movie is not an intelligent movie, its a boring movie. Oh "Life is boring and that is the point", well that doesn't make a good movie. My theory behind 2001: A Space Odyssey is that people hear from everyone that it is one of the greatest movies of all time, so they feel like they have to like it in order to appear to be intellectual. I think that Stanley Kubrick made 2001 as a practical joke. He had a bet with someone that he could make the biggest pile of **** that goes on forever, and somehow convince people that it was the greatest intellectual film of all time.

Ok, my rant about 2001: A Space Yawn is over. I do like Stanley Kubrick, and I think A Clockwork Orange is the most intelligent movie ever.

I'll give you two legal movies (and no, I'm not including Legally Blonde):

Witness for the Prosecution: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051201/

12 Angry Men: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050083/

12 angry men is an extraordinary film. thoughtful, dramatic, even humorous at times. it's one of my favorites.

i've never heard of witness for the prosecution, but i may have to look into it.

there are a lot of movies that i find interesting and entertaining, but i'm not sure i'd consider them 'intelligent'.

I thought I'd find 21 Grams in that list Luis.

I love 21 grams, but the movie itself is just a product of Amores Perros.

A lot of the ones mentioned are great, and very intelligent...

A few others not mentioned are

Higher Learning ... freaking incredible.

Natural Born Killers

Southland Tales... although a lot of people hated it, I liked it and thought it was fairly intelligent, except some parts which were really messed up.
