haha, calm down little girls, keep the hissy fits down now :)

edit: either way, respect the man, otherwise he'll think twice about ever releasing a theme if he does, so oh noes....

@Daeron Tin?viel: Lol. I never said that they can't do anything to my themes on their own PC. I even say thatpersonal mods> are allowed when I release my work. But releasing those personal mods isn't allowed. Ofcourse they can be shared by email etc, nothing I can do about that. But people that post them online are acting kinda lame IMO.

You're kinda exaggerating with that last point but whatever:pp I'm just defending my hard work. I do allow ports from Emico to Vista but those ports have to be perfect ports.

@- Kaboose -: I even did that with Emico. There where a few points that I thought about stopping the progress because of a few LE rips and concept rips.

I respect him, but again and its my opinion I think the whole thing its insane....

I've never seen anyone with their mits so tightly around a theme before, like their afraid of something getting out

its a themeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for gods sake.......

It may just be a theme, but there's a lot of work done when you make a proper one like Capric0rn does. He doesn't just make eye-candy goodness, he keeps usuability and functionality in mind.

^Wow, thanks! :D

@Daeron Tin?viel: It's more then just a theme for the artists. Take Emico for an example. I've put months of hard work into it, almost a year, seeing a modded version from that on a site like deviantART isn't really a nice sight:pp

How would you feel if you made something for free, worked almost a month on it and then see it laying around with modded stuff on it?

It's a theme made to my taste the way I want it to look. If they want to change stuff on it? Fine, but keep the final version to yourself and share it through mail or something.

I don't mine if my work is being modded or shared on the net by someone else, AS LONG AS they mention I'm the original author/designer of the modded 'whatever it is'!

Who cares... just port the theme, make a few amends (colours or something) release it as a new theme, saying "Credit to blah for Original", voila new thing... enjoy.

^That would be called ripping :)

@:: Lyon :: : I respect your opinion but it's not how I think about it. Bug posts will go to the wrong people etc, etc.

All those saying "I don't see the problem", sorta tough **** really! If he protects his stuff, that's up to him, and he has every right to do it. He put a lot of time and effort in.

HOWEVER, the is absolutely nothing he can do if you chose to mod it yourself, heck what can he do if you distribute it?

Point I am making is: Wow, way to argue over something that cannot be won!

That's my exact same points. I said a few times that we all know how this discussion is going to turn out. Everyone has their minds made up about it anyways. Sure I know I can't prevent people from doing what they want but I can say that they need to ask for permission first.

I think it's save to say that everyone should just leave the discussion as it is now :)

Well congratulations, but if Capric0rn doesn't want to license it like that then that's his choice.

i will have to say, that capric0rn did work on this for a very very long time. IMO don't see any problem with personal mods either, or the release of them to a friend by email. People have brought the mod and dist topic up with him before when he was releasing it TMK(to my knowledge) but i feel that if someone makes mods to it to there tastes for personal use and you complain about seeing a modded theme. you're being way too protective about it. yeah sure, you want it to be safe... yet why? it's a computer file... it's not a major part that is needed to run the main OS... but i mean if you feel strongly about LE Black then the only solution i can think of is take them down. no more questions about modding it walk away from it only thing i can really tell you

I dont really understand the last part of what you posted. Specially this part: "but i feel that if someone makes mods to it to there tastes for personal use and you complain about seeing a modded theme." I never complain about seeing a mod based on LE, only when they're being released on deviantART or other sites.

As for the Vista port, since em3 said he's okay with it then I'm okay with it as well. If someone wants to port LE 5.1 Black to Vista then you've got my permission :)
