Brad.
Hey, I'm currently looking for a pair of gaming headphones to be used with Xbox + Xbox live. I said I'm contemplating buying my brother a pair and maybe a pair for myself too. Depends on the price. The headphones need to have clear in-game sound, maybe surround sound and also have the ability to be used as a microphone too. This means that the user can clearly hear their team mates too. There was a topic a few weeks back however I can't find it for the life of me. Thanks for any help (Y)

Seeing as all sorround sound is, is when the sound is comming from the back it loses some high frequencie to make it appear as though from behind... +BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted November 8, 2008 Subscriber¹ Share Posted November 8, 2008 The ones game are selling are the turtle beach ones ?74.99 for the X3's and ?129.99 for the X4's You should have learned by now that things cost more here than they do in the States, UK/Euro get shafted all the tim:(:( Just search for Ear Force on Game's website, I don't think this link will work but I will try it ... http://www.game.co.uk/search.aspx?platform...rt=itemOrderasc The guy from LimeXB is quite good, I have spoken to him on the phone a while back when he first started getting the X1's in stock and he was going to hand deliver them to me as he would have been in my area, however I couldnt get the money together at teh tim:(:(
Brad.
Cheers, guys (Y) If I do go ahead with the purchase I'll get the X3. They're ?75 on GAME, Play and Amazon and amazon says ''This item will be released on January 23, 2009.''
Sethos
http://www.steelseries.com/int/products/au...and/information - Developed for gaming and music - Retractable microphone - Full-size neckband design - Xbox 360 compatible They suck major ass but hey, it's an alternative :p
+BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted November 9, 2008 Subscriber¹ Share Posted November 9, 2008 The X3s are not available on Play or Game until the 28th of this month, both have the older X1s in stock, I never use Amazon as have had bad experiences with them in the past :( All this talk of them is making me think whether or not I should save up and get a set now :p
BoJo
Don't get the X3s or the X1s. If you really really want to minimize on cost then the X1s are good, but they are basic and their only real improvement over TV speakers is better left/right differentiation (very little front/back differentiation.) The best place to get them in the UK is limexb360 I saw quite a good guide for current headphones on a GB forum recently: Headset Guide Personally I have the Tritton AX360s (which are GREAT IMHO) which cost me about ?70 from amazon. More widely available in the EU as Sharkoon X-Tactics (Tritton AX360 is the same headset but sold in the US) I'm saving up for some Astros at the moment, but they probably exceed decent and go into the unnecessary for everyday use category:pp @Sethos: Steelseries aren't that bad... they're just not quite as good as some of the similarly priced competition (i.e. the Sharkoons.) Brad.
@ Impulse, can the Tritton AX360s be used a 260 headset at the same time as playing the game sound? Cheers
DR3AMxCATCHER
I got the Turtle Beach Earforce and not too long after the microphone stopped working. Although the sound still works and mic still works the 360 piece does not work. Great headset and I would recommend it sadly mine doesn't work. DirtyLarry Veteran Posted November 24, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 24, 2008 Another nod for the Trittons here, I just actually got to hear them at a gaming convention for the first time this weekend and they were amazing. Hoping to get a review set to review for the site very soon actually, so if I do a review will be up, but my first impression was a great one, my only thing is do they have an optical out, as you plug your optical from the 360 directly into a box they supply that the headset comes with so you get the true 5.
Dysphoria
I wouldnt get the TurtleBeach Wired Earforce Headset. cable broke after using them for three months. Also they get uncomfortable after wearing them for couple of hours.. I would rather go for the wireless set, although sound quality might be lower... I also have the Tritton AX 360, the cable from the microphone broke after six months of use. They have better surround than the TurtleBeach Earforce but there is a constant hissing sound in quiet environments. Also every time you start up your game you have to click on the sound button of the receiver because each time you start your XBox or you start a game the sound gets reset to the max and it will blow your ear drums... By the way I am using the Optical Input on the receiver... I really hope they fix that issue and they also put a more durable cable for the Mic, the tinny wire they provide breaks very easy and cannot not be fixed. These are the ones you mentioned, yeah? They've got great reviews and I'm seriously contemplating it :/ EDIT: I really want to buy this headset. However they don't ship to the UK  Anyone know where I can purchase this headset in the UK? EDIT 2: Did some research and found an English website selling them for ?70 here. They sounded great. (and my hearing is just about trashed and they still sounded good)
