Hum Should Have His Own Member Badge Thing?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I didn't know where to post this, but obviously Hum has his very own forum where he constantly, daily, posts news...strange news :D & all very interesting news :)

Even though it isn't technology related, he seems like part of the staff & all the technology news staff are staff & have red badges.

What I'm suggesting is maybe make Hum officially part of the staff, with his own member badge or something (maybe something wacky; like rainbow, or multicoloured).

Is there a reason he isn't staff? Because he contributes a lot to the forums & always makes our day more interesting.

I don't want to annoy any staff or administrators with this thread, it's just a suggestion. I think he deserves it aswell :)

He does deserve something, but having his own staff badge is a bit much... maybe he should have a custom badge set instead.

Gary is envious- he wants a Gary7 Real World Issues section :p

No, I just believe that a member should not have a custom badge. Or have the Dev's design one for all of us. Yes that's the ticket 216,000+ custom badges. :woot:

i wouldn't say copying and pasting news is contributing to me, i'd rather see "awards" to people who write their own stuff or help people

Can I have a special badge? We all know I am the greatest human alive, that deserves some recognition don't you think?

no you're from liverpool :p

Yes, but he contributes more to the forums than the average member.

Bad idea.

Why? You can't just say that without giving your reasons.

Why isn't it? It's very time consuming & Hum spends a lot of time doing this for us forum members, to brighten up our day & give us something interesting to read. It's still time consuming searching the internet & finding these stories, aswell.

This might be a better idea than what I suggested. There may be a reason why he is not part of the staff & maybe that makes sense, but his own special custom badge is a very good idea in my eyes.

Hum contributes a hell of a lot on NW, but he has his own section named after him for that.

I don't think we need specific badges for members.

The MVC badge represents highly valued contributors already

time consuming? yes, worth it? no

look at the current MVCs, specifically budman, he'll read a topic and always write a decent answer with things the OP needs to think about and if they want help about a program he'll produce screenshots that are relevant etc. "Hum"'s postings on the other hand don't help anyone and can be found anywhere

hmmmm

You guys do release that Hum is just an AI Bot created by Neobond and Sir Trevor McDonald don't you??

Don't let his advanced AI programming fool you into thinking he's a real person.

Mike don't be an ass.

NW is fueled by members contributing original items, and by contributing news from around the globe.

Yeah you can find things elsewhere, but the reason we use NW is so we can discuss things here, with the NW userbase.

What Hum does is definitely worth it for NW

Exactly! :)

Maybe he should have the MVC badge then & be part of the MVC group? After all, 'Most Valued Contributer' doesn't have to be technology-related, surely?

He is certainly a valued contributor in my eyes

I would recommend the MVC badge for Hum for all of the information that he contributes to this community on a daily basis. Also, by not giving him his own personal badge, it will prevent other members from complaining and wanting one of their own as well.

I think it is actually. Not 100% sure though.
