david
What are the requirements to qualify to get the Neowin Veteran badge. I think there should be a badge for members over 5 years too :)

david
Just found out that you have to be a former staff member. Hrmm..... What about a badge for 5+ year member. (Y)
markwolfe Veteran Posted November 9, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 9, 2008 So ask for a job and then resign. :D There are some.... unpleasant... initiations that take place in the dark recesses of the subforums that make an ex-staffer eligible. I'd rather not go into details. It is too painful to recall. :ermm:

DigitalE
On another forum site I used to frequent, old members simply got a little icon next to their name depending on how many years they had been registered. I don't think we need a whole user category or new badge just for people who have been here a while :/

Marshalus Veteran Posted November 9, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 9, 2008 So ask for a job and then resign. :D Not that simple. Not every staffer is set to veteran. It's typically those who were on staff for a year or more and contributed regularly in that time. In the end, its really administrator discretion. Mercellus
In order to qualify for a Neowin Veteran, you must: Have your soul beaten down to a pulp by Administration. Brainwashed to believe that Neowin.net is the only URL on the internet. Join the cult of Neowin for several years and be initiated on a monthly basis (oh please, not more beatings!) Wannes
I actually find this quite amusing. You want a badge because you have been a member for over 5 years? You make it sound like an achievement while it's pure your own choice to be here so long. If you really want a badge you can subscribe for only ? 10 and wander around with an orange one for a whole year. If you stand out you may get a black or even green badge. As you can see, you have it all in your own hands.
