Symbols used on Neowin

Recommended Posts

I have always been a little confused by all the symbols used on Neowin to denote different things. For example, I get that the threads with dots on the page symbols are ones I've posted to and that the ones that have red page symbols instead of the normal white are ones considered to be specifically noteworthy.

But how is it determined which threads get red symbols?

What's the difference between forums with just the standard blue arrow symbols next to them as opposed to the blue arrow symbols that have circles around them?

Is there a key for these somewhere?

It's either based on the amount of views or replies.

The forums with the standard blue arrow symbols have only 1 forum in it, and that is itself, such as Neowin Announcements. Whereas the latter that you mentioned are the ones with subforums, such as Real World News.

There is a key, at the bottom, if you use the Swift Refresh forum skin.
