v3trae
So without doing enough research i ran the scripts to take ownership of uxtheme.dll and the other files to patch them to the hacked version, not realizing this breaks explorer on Vista SP1. I can no longer boot into my machine (uxtheme.dll failure which leads to explorer.exe failure) because the uxtheme.dll files are all messed up, is it at all possible to fix this problem? Maybe grab a non hacked version from a working vista build of the same version and then copy them over with a linux livecd? I REALLY don't want to have to format, my backup disk is currently being used to back up some large files and therefore can't fit any more (i think have 1.2 gigs left on my back-up drive) Any advise would rule, I have a friend running the exact same version of vista at home (install from the same disk even) and i figured maybe just copying them over would work, but i wanted to run it by people who may have run into the same problem before i do more damage. Let me know what you think, i appreciate any feedback.
TCA
if you have your vista cd just put it in and re install and you will have your old stuff in a folder called windows.old you should be just fine. there is a program you can use to where you don't have to patch your system. it's around here... i cant remember where exactly. that's what i am using
