capr
hey, I have vista x64 and patched uxtheme successfully.... I want to have my taskbar on the bottom of the screen and have it decreasse or increase in size depending on how many windows it's holding, and i would like the clock and quick launch and start menue to be up top... any program that lets me do this? i have been unable tofind a visual style that does this. If you want to know what i want exactly take a look at the latest version of ubuntu. it's exactly like how i want things.
geoken
You could likely mimic it with any of the popular dock's (i.e. ObjectDock, RocketDock). The only thing you wouldn't be able to do is have the taskbar change it's size based on the amount of windows. Why do you want to do this anyway? If the size of the taskbar changes you are left with two large, unusable gaps at either side of the now shrunken taskbar. You can try to convert this to usable space, but you'll just end up constantly shuffling windows (as the taskbar size changes) just to gain a tiny amount of screen space. I find that most Ubuntu users (myself included) who customize their systems (even slightly) are quick to ditch the 2 panel design. It's a huge space waster once you learn about the main menu applet and the quick lounge applet.
