Grand Maester
I see people post screenshots and other images within their posts rather than as attachments to posts all the time, but I only recently ran into a situation where I had to do that myself. When I did, I couldn't figure out how. Using the attachment feature just uploads an attachment link, I can't copy and paste from a file because the paste option is ghosted in the browser, and the FAQ that people keep telling me to refer to for forum feature/use related questions seems to be silent on the issue (at least based on the table of contents). How do I do this?
Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted November 15, 2008 Global Moderator Share Posted November 15, 2008 Hate to say it, you may need another browser, if that one doesn't allow you to paste. I'll give you this once, since uploading isn't covered in the FAQ. or go to ADD REPLY > Attachments, Browse and upload. But first you need to print screen, or find a previously saved image. Google how to print screen if you don't know
Joel
After you upload the file, click on the little box above the upload box, the one that says "Manage current attachments". You can then choose to insert the image using that.

Joel
No, it didn't. Actually, do that and leave the post here so that we can see it. Otherwise, it's just a PEBKAC error.
ATGC
Otherwise, it's just a PEBKAC error. Agreed, its definitely the table.

Joel
You can't post BMPs and expect them to show inline. Use JPG or GIF files.

Joel
Not if you change the Save as in mspaint to JPG when you save it.
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted November 16, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 16, 2008 PNG, JPG and GIF are about it. JPG if it's a photo, PNG otherwise.
Grand Maester
Not if you change the Save as in mspaint to JPG when you save it. Normally that's what I would have done, but for some odd reason it wouldn't let me. My computer has been a little quirky lately.

Joel
Sorry, wrong glitch. But if you don't have JPG as a choice in Paint, you're running Windows 95.
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted November 17, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 17, 2008 I've seen XP systems missing PNG output and such. Paint uses GDI+ encoders to save in the proper format, if they're missing or somehow corrupted Paint won't be able to save in those formats. Grand Maester
Try again with a JPG. Well I would except I found (well stumbled on would be more accurate) a workaround for the problem I was having so I deleted the screen shots. But I'll do it in a post preview and see if it works. How come I can't do it in a reply post?

Wannes
 Ever tried this? Ps. If something works in a post preview it normally works in the normal post as well. Both "things" are exactly the same except that in the first you only preview the post.
