Grand Maester
I was trying to figure out why some of the posts I make allow me to go back and edit them via an edit button and others don't so I went to the FAQ, and ran into a problem. I initially thought there were some missing words on the FAQ but now I think that for some reason my browser isn't displaying images within the posts on that particular thread, so I reported it as an error. But then I realized there were far more than a couple words missing. Specifically I'm referring to section 5b regarding forum use. I think there are supposed to be a bunch of images of the various icons used throughout neowin interspersed with the text, but all I see is the text so it looks like someone just went in and indiscriminately chopped words out here and there. Is this just me? If so what going on? I've never had issues seeing inline images in posts before and I can see Daniel's signature graphic at the end of each post so why can't I see these? p858snake
The links to the images are severed because the images no longer exist, they were from a old forum theme.

Joel
I'm working on fixing it. There's been a change in forum settings in the last little while, and I can't edit the posts because I'm limited as to the number of images I can put in a post. p858snake
Joel: Maybe you/a dev/ect should download the images and rehost them somewhere else on the servers so they the links don't die with theme changes?

That's not why they died; we changed our server config a while back, and they were referencing a subdomain that no longer exists.
Grand Maester
Check it now. Yeah it's fixed now. Although I did notice that the icons are a little different than what I see. Specifically, when I press the quote button on a post it doesn't ghost, it turns gold. Is it safe to assume that this is a function of the particular skin I'm using? Also, how do I paste an image of forum image/object? I wanted to post an image of the button in this post to show what I mean but I can't figure out how. Depending on your browser, although it should be similar to these methods:Firefox: right click the said image and there should be a option called "Copy image location" IE6: Right click image > Properties > Address

Grand Maester
Another problem, I have tried twice to get Neowin to track the FAQ as a subscription but it won't add it to my subscription page. It let's me select the link but then when I got to my subscriptions list, it's not there. When I went back to try to add it a third time I got an error saying it's already in my subscriptions. What's going on?

As to the first paragraph, I'm not sure what you are refering to. As to the second, I know that now, I'm trying to figure out how I would include a picture of a forum object in the post in the future should I need to. Grand Maester
You know the thought just occured to me, if Joel can edit a post made by Daniel (the FAQ) does that mean admins/supers can edit anybody's posts? Auto Warn-Reduction System online again What exactly is this? Also something I noticed on that same post of the FAQ. Joel was able to list a reason for the edit. Can normal users do that on their posts?

Grand Maester
Sure, if you choose to. Umm this may be a stupid question, and if so I apologize (I feel like I've asked quite a few lately, and appreciate everybody's patience, I've been a member since 03 but have only been particularly active the past month or so, so I'm still kinda learning), but I can't see a place to do that? How does one go about doing that?

Oh no, I know how to edit, I mean how do I add comments, you know a reason for the edit where it says "edited by" in small type below the post text?
