Midnight Mick
So, I've been using Linux (Xubuntu) for a whole day now! I had connection issues with my wifi card but after reading up a bit I installed the windows driver via ndiswrapper with no problem. My question is: I originally extracted the driver to a folder on my desktop, is it safe to delete this folder now, or does ndiswrapper still need this? markwolfe Veteran Posted November 21, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 21, 2008 Not sure? Rename the folder. If you can reboot and the wireless still works, you know it is safe to remove ;) (I am guessing it will be OK, but I don't use wireless/ndiswrapper, so I am not 100% sure)
David Scaife
It should be fine to delete; ndiswrapper stores the driver files elsewhere. Keep in mind though, it may be handy to keep around somewhere in case you decide to switch distros or otherwise need to set up ndiswrapper again. Midnight Mick
Thanks for the advice, I will try renaming first. :)
