Sir Topham Hatt
Hello! Is there a specific graphics forum? I mean, I just posted this topic but I am sure there used to be a forum specifically for questions to do with graphic editing that isn't anything really to do with the website building side of things. I know there is the Grafix Exchange section, but it isn't something that I want to pay someone for a suitable answer :s Thanks
Sean B. Veteran Posted November 22, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 22, 2008 I'm sure your thread is ok in General Discussion, but it also could go in the Web Client Side forum :).
Fred Derf Veteran Posted November 22, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 22, 2008 We have two graphic design forums: A free area - https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showforum=31 And a for-pay area - https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showforum=202 The name on the free area has changed a few times and it doesn't currently represent graphic design particularly well. Sean B. Veteran Posted November 22, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 22, 2008 Wait a second there are forums that you have to pay to see? No: This section of the forum allows for registered members to buy, sell or trade items with other Neowin members. Neowin accepts no responsibility or liability for any transactions that take place as the result of a sale or purchase of an item in this forum. We require threads to stay on-topic, any off-topic posts will be deleted or moved at our discretion. Thread bumping is not permitted with the exception of 1 post per 48 hours by the thread starter. A bump is classified as a post after your last post that doesn't bring any relevant information to your thread. An update on which items are available or price changes are fine. If a person is caught bumping threads outside this exception - it will be deleted and that person will be warned or restricted from this area. Please use your common sense when conducting transactions. If something seems to good to be true then it probably is. Check the Buyer and Seller Feedback forum to see whom you are dealing with. Try to discuss all of the terms before you begin. Do not hold Neowin responsible for transaction problems and remember that this is a member-to-member service. Good luck and happy exchanging! Fred Derf Veteran Posted November 22, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 22, 2008 Wait a second there are forums that you have to pay to see? The free area is for people who are asking others to fix their image(s) for free. The for-pay area is where people would offer $50 to someone to design a logo for them. Both areas are available to regular members.
Lechio
What was the reason to send it to another area? I remember a few years ago visiting that area, which was always busy with people asking and giving help and with requests (free and payed). Something changed in the meantime? Is there any chance that the (free) graphic forum would comeback showing at the front page and not go under "Web Client Side" like it is now? I'm sorry about all of these questions, surely the changes have all a very good reason to have been done. Just asking out of personal curiosity. Lechio
it was always under web client side, it just didnt used to be called that. Maybe I'm mistaken, but didn't it had a specific forum section for it? I'm talking about of something like 3 years ago...

Not to the best of my knowledge. It's been under a sub section of Web Client Side for as long as I can remember.
Lechio
Hmm OK. Maybe I'm confused. How about making history and creating a separate section for it? :) Current name doesn't really reflect what it is now, in my believe.
Fred Derf Veteran Posted November 23, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 23, 2008 For all intensive purposes it is (and always has been) the graphic design forum. The name has been changed to something that sounds more techie than it needs to be.
