How you can save a lot of of disk space on Vista SP1

Recommended Posts

Here's a surprising little trick I just learned about:

After you've installed the Vista SP1 update, a tool called "vsp1cln.exe" is installed in the system32 directory. If you run it, it will remove all of the uninstall files related to Vista SP1. You won't be able to roll back to Vista RTM afterwards, but, so what, right?

Running this tool saved me 800 MB of disk space.

Hope this helps.

I did this a while back; handy way of getting disk space back. I recommend everyone do it after updating to SP1 and ensuring they have no issues with it. :D

I have over 1.4TB of hard drive space in my computer. Not worried about a peon 800MB. But thanks...who wants to roll back anyway?
