KDE Distro

Kubuntu? The new 8.10 distro is fairly easy to install.

Or maybe even openSUSE 11 if you want eyecandy. The installer is simple enough for "Teh n00bs" :p

no don't go with kubuntu 8.10 there are tons of issues with the new kde version, very buggy. go with kubuntu 8.04 or try the kde version of linux mint 5.

Kubuntu is the worst KDE distro. Try OpenSUSE 11.1 (yes ".1", not 11) or Mandriva. Kubuntu 8.10 is way too buggy and 8.04 use a 3 years old version of KDE. OpenSUSE 11.1 is in beta, but is better. They have backported a lot of feature from the upcomming version of KDE and have tons of custom improvements. Mandriva is less or more stable and come with a recent version of KDE.

If you want to have a great kde experience, wait for KDE4.2. KDE 4.0 used in OpenSUSE 11 (not ".1") is not usable for end user. KDE 4.1 in Mandriva and Kubuntu is Ok for end user and have some cool and inovative feature, but still lack some other. KDE 4.2 (expected in 2 month) will have most feature from the old KDE (3.5) and even more cool and inovative features.

Well, you can really install KDE on any distro you'd like. Just use the appropriate package manager and download all of the KDE desktop packages. Then you can boot into it and try it out. Desktop managers can be installed on any Linux distro, irregardless of the version of Linux that you use.

But it is going to be buggy like Kubuntu. Real KDE distro will fine tweak KDE to their need and include Qt/KDE based utilities well integrated in KDE. No GTK+ applet in systray, 1000 config panel and a messy menu like you will get is you install KDE on, let say, Fedora.
