PsiKoTicK
A lot of my favorite VSes from XP used a "compact" start menu - the right hand side only having icons, no words (so you see the control panel icon, but not "Control Panel," etc. Is this possible in Vista and no one has done it, or is it not even possible? Lee G. Veteran Posted November 23, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 23, 2008 It can't be done because the Vista start menu doesn't use icons. You could decrease the size of the right panel in Vista, although it would be a lot more complicated than XP - you'd need to edit the whole start menu image (as opposed to just changing the width value in Reshack, for example). And it wouldn't achieve a lot, because you'd still be left with the text, which would be cut off. Here's a poor MSPaint mock-up I made, to explain what I mean:
PsiKoTicK
Blargh. Thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to switch over to WindowBlinds at some point to get that effect, huh?
