Question about GHWT faulty drum kit

Recommended Posts

my 'yellow cymbal pad' doesn't work at all on my guitar hero world tour drum kit. Just the cymbal only... so for the moment I've swapped my orange cymbal and put it into the yellows place and can now only play rock band!!!

now ive just tried the tuning kit (MIDI TO USB CABLE AND PC PROGRAM) and i fine tuned all my mother pads, but my yellow cymbal refuses to work, it hasn't worked for a week and only got a days use!

now i have just read that in Australia, you have to return your defective stuff to the retail store in which you bought it, in my case..J B Hifi, but i Can't find my receipt!!!

i pre-ordered it, do you think they will be able to go by that off their system or a receipt is a must???

what do you guys think?

If you pre-ordered it they should have a record of it. I've done this before at other stores.

I've heard of so many problems with the World Tour drumbs, glad I went with Rock Band instead.

i heard they had there far share of problems too??and the RB strat controller too?

Fair share of issues with the drums, not nearly as much as GH:WT tour though.

You better have your fingers crossed, I mean you tuned the hardware yourself (which in itself usually voids the hardware) and don't have a receipt.

I hope everything works out for you :/

Really? Tuning the drums with a cable provided by Red Octane and an app made for tuning from them voids your warranty?

After reading it I miss-read it, lol. I thought t0mbi said he swapped the sensors in each cymbal (some people are moving the place of the sensors so they pick up lighter hits,

My mistake :p

Take it apart yourself and resolder wires.

I done that with the main drums.

I'm thinking symbols are probably similar.

ive already done that with the red pad, but now its the cymbal by its self that wont work...at all, not even if i crank up the sensitivity in the drum tuner program (which they should of released with the whole package first up !) so its officially dead! :(

  • 3 weeks later...

sorry to resurrect an old thread but just wanted to give an update

i emailed red octane and they sent back to me details on how to send it away, so i sent my faulty cymbal away

6 DAYS LATER i have now gotten a new one in the mail!

good work red octane / activision for doing that quick smart wasn't painful at all!

My mate was forced to refund his instrument bundle after contacting Red octane (he refunded it with play.com) after buying a new set red octane sent him a brand new GH:WT guitar, totally free and without warning him. Didn't even ask for the old guitar back (Y)

You can't really say, "yeah GHWT kit had loads more problems", as you do not have numbers :p

Luckily, I had a perfect kit. If you're in Australia I'm guessing the RB2 kit isn't out anyway. There are too much up's over the RB1 kit to get that imo.

I just re-soldered mine myself

They use ****ty glue to fix the wires onto the pads. Really should have been soldered.
