Pros: Allows people to choose their own endings

eureka-seven-the-movie.jpg

I finished reading the manga version of Eureka Seven. It covers all the major milestones except the ending is not a happily ever after ending as provided by the anime version. The ending is left open and up to the reader to judge whether

Eureka has passed on or that once the Scub restores itself, Eureka will return back to Renton. Another spoiler is that Dominic dies instead of being the second teenage couple along with Eureka and Renton as illustrate in the anime.

8/10

Suggestions: If you enjoyed Princess Mononoke, RahXephon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Fullmetal Alchemist then check out Eureka Seven.

I just finished reading Mai-Hime. I enjoyed how dumb it was. It was slapstick and perverted but it never took itself seriously, which redeemed it in my eyes.

Here's my synopsis of the shounen harem/magic girl manga:

post-274334-12711076840382.jpg

"Hello guys, Look at your girl, now back to me, now back at your girl, now back to me. Sadly she isn't me. But if she stopped using crudely written dialogue lines and switched to not taking herself too seriously, she could be like me. Look down, back up. Where are you? You're in a school full of perky, young female magicians with the potential to be your girlfriend. What's in your hand? Back at me. I have it. It's a random girl's boob with the two tickets to other girls' of different cup sizes and body shapes who'll do every fantasy you love. Look again, the girls are now glowing in your awesomeness since you are somehow now the most important guy in this universe . Anything is possible when you attend a girl magic school and not the lame real world high school in your reality. I'm in a harem."

I just bought Cowboy Bebop box set, it's the only anime hardware I've actually bought. I just had to because I'm going to try and get a few friends into anime and this way it's easier just to pop a DVD in.

I'm sure most of you liked the show :p

Liked is an understatement. It is a masterpiece! The music, art, and smooth flow of the story and the interactions between characters made it one of the best anime series ever to be created despite its unoriginality (check out Lupin III).

Congratulations on your first purchase.

Definitely check out some of their stuff. Masked Forever has a very good post outlining the Ghibli stuff on the previous page and choose from there :)

anyone in particular?

I saw a couple posts about some of there movies, but that was way back before I started watching a lot of this stuff.

Start off with Spirited Away. Report back after watching it. We can easily point you to the happy ones if you enjoyed those aspects or the tragic ones if you liked the sad moments. It was the first non English animated movie to ever win an Academy Award.

cool, ill probably watch it tonight.

Any preference on english subbed, or english dubbed?

They're brilliant both ways. I watched it dubbed for the first time. However, the emotional tones voiced in the Japanese audio are not translated well enough with the English dubs. It's a cultural thing. Different words are stressed out more and emphasized.

Always watch in the native language to understand and fully appreciate the tones conveyed by the spoken word.

Fun fact: Christian Bale voice acted Howl and Billy Crystal voiced Calcifer in Howl's Moving Castle.

Just finished the first series of Honey and Clover. Really nice anime. Absolutely loved the soundtrack by Suneohair, Spitz and Suga Shikao.

The second series is just as good (Y)

^It sure is :D

Just watched the latest episode of FMA:B and I really enjoyed it. It was pretty awesome to see Alphonse fighting against Kimblee and Pride. Also, Yoki owned in this episode as well :D Mustang also looked really mad in the preview for next week's episode.

Thanks man, I'm pretty excited about it. I've only seen it through once, so I'll re-watch it again.

I remember the way it finished was unbelievable, I can hardly remember though. I get wed-thurs off work so I'm going to watch quite a bit of it on my 'weekend' lol :p

Just finished it too. Was half-way when I posted. :) I slightly prefered the first series though maybe its just the length of the second, I think the ending just left me a bit unfulfilled. Takemoto :rose: But I guess thats what the series was all about, that kind of bitter-sweet feeling of love. And it made more of an impact than just a normal happy ending and all ends tied loose.

FMA:B manga was better than great, it's GREAT! Can't believe this series is really about to end, but each chapter is just making me wish it wouldn't stop. Loving this manga each month more and more.

OooOOoOoooOOOOoOOOOoooOOOooooOOoooH yeah, new bleach today. No more filler arc, back to main story. Ichigo vs Ulq :) Finally we will get to see super sayin 3 mode LOL

    • Nvidia outs hotfix driver for BSOD, wake from sleep, G-SYNC, Smooth Motion, NV-Failsafe by Sayan Sen Nvidia today rolled out a new hotfix driver in order to fix various issues related to monitors and displays. The company notes G-SYNC-related frame pacing troubles should now be resolved on Ada Lovelace GPUs, ie, RTX 4000 series graphics cards. For anyone not familiar, G-SYNC is Nvidia's in-house proprietary adaptive synchronization tech that syncs the GPU's framerate output with the monitor's refresh rate in order to match them and eliminate screen tearing. On the topic of synchronization, Nvidia claims improved stability when gaming with Vsync or vertical sync on multi-monitor displays. The company also finally fixes a bug wherein displays would fail to wake up from sleep mode. Another bug has been resolved when certain monitors were identified as "NV-Failsafe" since the EDID information was incorrectly read by the GPU. EDID or Extended Display Identification Data of a monitor essentially contains the necessary metadata that lets a GPU understand the features and capabilities of a connected monitor. Ghosting and jittering problems as well as game crashes during the use of the Smooth Motion functionality have also been fixed with this release. Nvidia Smooth Motion feature is a driver-based AI model that delivers a seemingly "smoother" gameplay experience by inferring an additional frame between two rendered frames. Here is the full changelog for the new GeForce hotfix driver 610.52: [Ada] Resolves a frame pacing issue on certain monitors when G-SYNC is enabled Resolved an issue that prevented the EDID from being read on certain monitors causing them to be identified as "NVIDIA NV-Failsafe” Improved gaming stability in multi-monitor configurations when using V-SYNC with DLSS Frame Generation Resolved an issue where certain monitors would not wake from sleep mode [World of Warcraft] Gaming stability improvements Resolved an issue that could cause jittering or ghosting in some DirectX 11 games when Smooth Motion is enabled Resolved an issue that could cause some games to crash when launched with Smooth Motion enabled General stability improvements when the system fails to create a new allocation Others in the feedback thread also point out that the hotfix patches a blue screen of death (BSOD) issue. You can provide your own feedback there too after downloading the new 610.52 driver from Nvidia's official website at this link. Keep in mind that this hotfix is not essential to install unless you are having any or all of these issues. As such you can stay on the latest available GameReady driver version 610.47.
