Read my previous reply to you? :p But not have been obvious but it was a reply to your post :)

You should definitely watch as it's by the same director plus it has those cameos. You're gonna laugh ones you notice them :D

I LOL'd at the end of episode 13 as well. Isaac and Miria all of a sudden noticing they haven't aged throughout the years  The both of them are funny as hell :p

Yup, I did actually at the time. I would have watched Durarararara earlier but I heard about the cameos from Baccano so I thought I'd watched it first and also Baccano looked a but more appealing.

Also, I've decided to watch Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan. Watched the first few episodes, looks good so far.

Holy crapness!

Rurouni Kenshin Live Action Movie "in Production"

Japanese actor Takeru Satoh, known best for a series of roles in drama, has been identified as the most likely actor to play the role of Himura Kenshin in a rumoured movie adaptation of hit Shonen Jump bakumatsu era samurai manga Rurouni Kenshin.

Oh man, this could be just totally bad ass or just totally ruin the chances this will ever come back lol. I would love for this to come across in the fashion a lot of older samurai movies have done, and I sure hope they don't make it cheesy.

I'm guessing the latter. I have yet to come across a Japanese movie based on a manga or anime series that left me in awe or actually made me enjoy it. I hope the movie is a live action of the first OVA, which would set up everything nicely for sequels if the performance is good.

I personally disliked Durarara despite its extremely high ratings. It's a mishmash of pop culture mixed with a fantasy story. It doesn't have the amazing atmosphere Baccano has or the amazing cast. You should check out Planetes and Mushishi. Both blow Code Geass, TTGL, Death Note and FMA: Brotherhood out of the water in terms of delivering a well rounded story with organic characters.

Warning: Watching the following series will reset your standards too high and make you feel upset about not finding another anime series of such quality.

^That's because Durarara was a complete different story. The mysterious side about it and the awesome cliffhangers all made it awesome. With each episode they'll prove you wrong with what you're thinking about what's going to happen. If he likes Baccano he'll definitely like Durarara as well.

The later stuff about TTGL, DN and FMA:B is somewhat BS though.

 I found 1080p releases of NGE Rebuilds... Time to rewatch Neon Genesis Evangelion after my re-reading of Full Metal Panic!

Fun note: Did you know that Neon Genesis Evangelion manga is still publishing!?!

@HilariousNinja

Make sure you watch Full Metal Panic! Top 5 favorite for me and ALWAYS manages to actually make me ROFL. My kind of humor and story.

Yeh, I'll definitely check out Planetes and Mushishi once I'm done with TTGL. Also I had Full Metal Panic on my watch list but I wasn't the biggest fan of mechs, though after Geass and this I'm starting to enjoy the genre more.

^You could try some Gundam shows like 08th MS team or Zeta Gundam. NGE, RahXephon and Eureka Seven are also great anime with Mecha in them.

I'd recommend Gundam 00 as well :)

^True, but the 08th MS Team series really stands out among all the other series. To me at least :p It's due to the resemblance of today's army vehicles/guns etc. It's not too futuristic which makes this a unique Gundam anime imo.

On another note; I'm REALLY looking forward to the Gundam 00 movie. I've already bugged RadishTM several times on WLM about it :p

Have you seen the new Gundams????

Anime series? They all feel the same. Insert singing idol + random male lead with random spiky hair or trendy hair cut + some obscure evil force/opposing country = New Gundam series.

Ah I didn't check out 08th MS Team actually. Should watch that.

It's a decent cheese fest. If you want real Gundam, then watch Gundam Zeta and all its sequels (ZZ and Char's Counterattack). It's a very expansive universe with good characters.

If you want real space battles and one of the best cast ever to be created, then check out Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

Also I had Full Metal Panic on my watch list but I wasn't the biggest fan of mechs, though after Geass and this I'm starting to enjoy the genre more.

FMP as mecha? Mecha takes a back seat to the awesome comedy/action the whole series provides. Code Geass is to Mecha is what Elfen Lied is to romance/drama.

The new Gundam 00 Mobile Suits are going to have Spiky hair and a singing idol as upgrades? Haro in Lockon's Gundam is awesome but a singing idol? Of course he was talking about the Mobile Suits which you could've noticed to be honest :/

Ah I didn't check out 08th MS Team actually. Should watch that. And I too am really looking forward to the Gundam 00 movie. Have you seen the new Gundams????

Of course :D I've drooled over them several times, haha :p Have you seen the second trailer? Setsuna's screams gave be goosebumps, specially the one at the end of the trailer.

After watching a few series of the Mobil Suit Gundam franchise, it is nothing spectacular. It's simply a high budget anime series that caught on fire during the mecha crazy in the 80s. Its revolutionary first series then became the basis for every Gundam series out there (with the exception of those chibi versions).

If anyone wants to experience the best of what the Gundam universe offers, then check out Zeta Gundam. However, its old age doesn't exactly hold up when put under the microscope unfortunately. The weird voice acting and ancient animation techniques will be a turn off for many.

The newer Gundam series are simply "cartoons for older teenagers". Every character is in high school (no, the shows won't let you forget that) and proceed to be super saiyan, metrosexual pilots who can defeat everything.

^What's your point exactly?

The Gundam franchise isn't that great unfortunately. Its competitor, the Macross franchise, provides a much better intrapersonal perspective of individuals in a space setting. The Gundam franchise provides viewers with great explosions in space and a good seat to watch hundreds of thousands-millions of people die as colonies get bombarded.

I've already bugged RadishTM several times on WLM about it :p

Yes, damn you and your Gundamu! :p

I've started to re-watch the GITS films (and the series later) all over again from the beginning, it's been a very, very long time :D I'm still holding out for a 3rd GIG

    • Wonder what MPs have ties to these privacy/verification/data harvesting companies that are going to step in this time. Last time under the Tories half the cabinet had fingers in the pies, heck even the PM and his wife at the time was working for silicon valley, probably made a fortune.
    • Google Chrome is killing all uBlock Origin bypasses, Microsoft Edge, Opera to follow by Sayan Sen For a while now the transition away from Manifest V2 (MV2) to MV3 has been on-going and it looks like it is entering its final phase of deprecation, at least, in the case of Google Chrome. A recent discussion thread in the w3c WebExtensions Community Group GitHub repo has highlighted how the latest and upcoming versions of the most popular browser are expected to be its final releases with support for MV2 extensions. Chromium contributor Andrey Bershanskiy shared details about recent Chromium changes and according to comments from Google engineer Devlin Cronin, Chrome has now started removing the flags that previously controlled MV2 availability. kExtensionManifestV2Disabled, the Chromium feature flag that allowed controlled disabling of MV2 add-ons, is now completely removed, which means you will likely no longer find uBlock Origin in your browser extensions list. He wrote: "The kExtensionManifestV2Disabled feature has been default-enabled for over a year. Remove the feature and the effectively-dead code. ... Any tests that relied on being in the "warning" phase (i.e., with the kExtensionManifestV2Disabled) for their sole behavior testing are removed, since this stage is no longer reachable." Cronin further explained why MV2 extensions are no longer allowed in supported Chrome versions as maintaining the associated functionality indefinitely is no longer possible. He cited growing technical difficulties and implementation complexities as well as security concerns. He wrote: "MV2 extensions are no longer allowed in any supported version of Chrome, and we are removing support for them and the associated functionality. We won't be able to provide / maintain this functionality indefinitely due to the complexity and tech debt, as well as the security risks it entails (we've actually found a number of bugs that are specific to MV2 lately). Of course, other browsers can continue supporting these if they so desire. Unfortunately, we won't be putting code behind a compilation flag ... We won't be removing all the MV2 code wholesale right away, so many of these things will continue working for awhile (but they will go away eventually, and some may go away sooner than others)." What this essentially means is that the tricks and bypasses that were used to keep MV2 extensions like uBlock Origin and others alive will not work any more on Chrome, or at least not for very long. For example the Windows Registry mod that could extend MV2 availability will cease to function after Chromium version 151. Here is a rundown of the changes coming in the final such releases of Chromium releases: Chromium 150 lost ExtensionManifestV2Disabled option Chromium 151 will loose ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported option Chromium 151 will loose ExtensionManifestV2Availability option Chromium 151 will likely loose AllowLegacyMV2Extensions option Other Chromium-based browsers like Opera and Microsoft Edge could soon follow suit too. Although it is not specified, Edge began disabling uBlock Origin back in February, and Opera could also stop the functioning of MV2 add-ons, even though it had committed to support MV2 for longer in October 2024. uBlock Origin developer Raymond Hill (gorhill) apparently stated the following: "For Opera I did submit 1.70.0 rather late, but this was weeks ago. A while ago I received an email from Opera that they plan to abandon MV2-based extension so maybe they are no longer allocating resources for reviewing such extensions." The email which developers like Gorhill mentions was received from Opera last year. Here is what it seemingly said: Hence for now the only Chromium browser that seems to be on-board fully with MV2 support is Brave, and perhaps Vivaldi as well. Meanwhile if you want to ditch Chromium browsers entirely then Mozilla Firefox is an excellent alternative as MV3 and MV2 are both supported. Of course the easiest solution is to switch to uBlock Origin Lite if you want to remain on Chrome, as it is MV3-based, but from our experience, uBO Lite does not seem to be as good as the original non-Lite version. • Write to your MP 😄 Like believing in Santa. Total surveillance IS the goal. Wake up.
    • This whole dumb age verification thing needs to die and be replaced by giving parents tools to control devices. Why am I required to plaster my ID all over the internet to prove I'm old enough when parents should be the ones dictating what their kids are doing on their phones. Apple released great set of tools for iPhones coming to iOS 27 that do just that. Why are governments not mandating that kind of control to phone makers to built them into phones. This whole thing is so absolutely idiotic it's wild.
