+Gary7 Subscriber² Posted November 28, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted November 28, 2008 Does IPB software not have a method of verifying a spammer when they register? I am reporting one or two a day. Today I reported three.
Nicholas-c Veteran Posted November 28, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 28, 2008 Does IPB software not have a method of verifying a spammer when they register? I am reporting one or two a day. Today I reported three. It has ways of stopping spam bots but if a person makes the account then activates the spambot with the registered account theres nothing stopping that. there is a limit between posts anyway i think ? Nicholas-c Veteran Posted November 28, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 28, 2008 Quick little idea for admins/devs : Couldn't you make new users first 5 posts within say 2 hours of them registering require mod/admin auth to actually be posted ? roadgeek9
I remember when I joined here 2 years ago, we didn't have such a big spam problem AFAIK. Nowadays, they just keep coming and coming and coming, just like how the Energizer bunny keeps going and going and going.
