[Official] GTA:IV The Lost and Damned DLC

Recommended Posts

Just finished it, pretty awesome, story's pretty good but not as good as GTA4, there's a couple of pretty awesome missions in there I think people will really like

You're fast :p how long did it take you? I'm calling it a day, tomorrow a long day at work and then I'll probably finish it when I'm home.

Right I have played about with it for a bit and done a fair share of missions...

First of let me say this the new weapons are absolute class (Y) Love em!

Secondly is a few thoughts on Johnny the main character, nothing story related just what I think of him, spoiler's for those who would rather just see this themselves...

Right, first and foremost Johnny, you are in a biker GANG get used to this idea, take your wimpy rebellious "was that really needed" attitude some place else these guys get ****ed of their heads and start life threatening drunken brawls and that's at 9 am right before they venture over to enemy territory and put a few grenades in rival gangs clubhouse... thing I don't understand here is Johnny literally looks surprised every time he sees Billy act like a nut job. Like Billy just turned into a psychopath out of nowhere and isn't having his daily tea and crumpets as he usually does

Another thing I don't understand is how Johnny got into the position of Vice President with this kind of attitude? He seems to take everything waaaaay to seriously and well seems anything but a hardcore biker. Now this isn't at all bad I actually am liking the character development for both Johnny and Billy but I am just liking Billy as a character way more then Johnny and given the choice would have played as Billy.

I will continue through what seems to be a very fun couple of hours that await and hopefully Johnny grows a pair soon :p

Do I regret the purchase? Hell no (Y)

I just finished it a little while ago and wow, I enjoyed it very much. Was it worth the 1600 MS points? I think so. Bike handling I thought was better and I fell off my bike maybe a few times at most. Now I have not played GTA IV in a long time so I am not sure if it is actually different or they made it a little better just for this DLC as you are going to be on the bike majority of the time but I thought it was just fine.

The final mission was awesome and comparable to as awesome as the bank job mission from the Niko storyline if anyone ever played that but I would not say it was better than that mission. There were a few other cool missions too. In total I believe there were 22 if anyone was wondering, took me about 5 hours to complete though it may take others a little longer.

The new weapons are awesome. I love the automatic 9MM and the automatic shotgun. The storyline I enjoyed as I pretty much have said already especially with some of the missions crossing over to Niko's storyline.

Oh, and either I'm a pansy, or the arm wrestling mini game is ridiculously hard.

I expect there' ll be a few people rushing out to buy new pads because of broken right thumbsticks ;)

Are there a lot of bike gang missions (where the whole bike gang tags along) like those in the screenshot above? That sounds like fun.

Also, are there any new maps or locations? I thought I read somewhere that there would be a new map or changes like the ongoing constructions in GTA IV (like the bridges, openings in the highway, the rollercoaster, etc) would be finished in this one. Or is it the exact same map?

no new street maps. new building interiors (buildings open up that weren't previously available)

My favorite part of the review:

"Expect to hear tons of New York City

Hardcore, as it appears to be the official soundtrack of The Lost"

With awesome new tracks. I mean, how great is it to walk into the club house and hear Cannibal Corpse blarring. I love it! The Liberty Rock station also has some great new additions. I almost crapped when I heard "Run to the Hills" and "Saturday Night Special."

From what it looks like, it has some great new content, but nothing revolutionary enough to give it that key GTA charm. It's a shame that the main character is not as developed as Niko was.

^^^You don't use autosave?

-Spenser

o.m.g. i clocked about 300 hours of gta 4 and never knew there was an autosave feature.

*hits himself in the face repeatedly. >_<

queued L&D from work, will turn onteh 360 and DL it when i get off work, but i have a question

Will the vehicles in Lost and Damned be in the vanilla GTA with niko ? mainly asking cause i got alot of vehicles in the parking including the Hummer Police / FBI Buffalo both in near mint condition ( only thing wrong is they need to be taken to the car wash as there is dirt on them ), and i dont want to give those up

I absolutely love this DLC. I spent two hours just crusing around on my custom Hexer with a sawn-off, occasionally calling for Clay and Terry and just blowing random people away. So much fun.

Nope, the LaD vehicles are only in the LaD episode.

Your 'Niko' save games won't be affected buy your L&D . It's just like starting a new game

Love the DLC, only took me a day to complete, but I don't do much so I have alot of time on my hands!

I wish all the new weapons and bikes could be used in the original GTA IV storyline.

One more thing, it seems that the hooker animations have been taken out, maybe in a recent patch? Now whenever I pick up a hooker, I cannot choose the service I want, and instead of being able to watch, the camera locks onto the back of the car as they do their business.

Wtf is with that?!
