How generous are microsoft?

Recommended Posts

Well, as christmas is drawing ever closer, i decided to see what microsoft is planning to get me for christmas by asking them in an email lol....

"Hello microsoft!

As i have long been a supporter of microsoft, especially of the Xbox and Xbox360, and also microsoft has lots of infortmation about me i hope that we can be classed as friends.

If this is the case i was wondering if you could tell me what microsoft would be getting me for christmas? may i suggest a new Xbox 360 console which has HDMI (as i would find this most useful) or how about a bigger hard drive so i can make the most of the new Dashboard and be able to save my games, or how about even a free arcade live game which will give me hours of fun.

You may be wondering what gift i have for you, well, all through the year i have been a good boy andi have managed to convince lots of people to buy themselves an Xbox 360 instead of a ps3! I hope the extra sales were appreciated :)

Oh, and dont worry about wrapping my present! it will be kinder to the enviroment without having to throw away the wrapping paper!

So, please let me know what you have got me as i am very excited!

Your Friend,

Glenn "

I'm very hopeful myself lol :p

Would you give M$ something for free?

Something you spent billions on creating?

I doubt it.

Looks like somebody just wants a piece of the action after reading about that other kid who got Final Cut Pro by emailing Steve Jobs. I truly hope you get nothing. Go EARN it.

The thing is, Microsoft does give a lot of stuff out for free. I've been to their launch events and for free they served breakfast and lunch (pretty good catered sandwiches too!) Plus, I've gotten Windows 2000, Office 2003 Visual Studio 2003 SQL Server Developer Edition 2005 from these shows. Not to mention t-shirts and other stuff.

Say what you will about their business practices, they're not stingy when it comes to launch events.

Thats how i got all my vista liscences . At the windows 2008 server launch they gave out 2 copies (a 64bit and 32 bit copy with different keys) out to each attendee. I also got another license from that customer participation thing.

Then microsoft gives out all there software for free to non profits and libraries (www.techsoup.org for more info).

Microsoft is always giving out free stuff. You just have to know where to look.

They are VERY GENEROUS considering microsoft gives all of their software away for free to non profits.

I don't make any profit out of my Windows computer but they won't let me get something for free...
