spenser.d
OP, you realize you are talking about one of the (If not TEH) MOST Greedy companies on the planet?!Keep dreaming, you have better luck with your Boss than with Microsoft! I don't know where you get off saying that crap about MS all the time. They give plenty of things away and are plenty generous, but they are also first and foremost a corporation in the business to make a profit. -Spenser
Kushan
Microsoft makes a LOT of money, but I wouldn't call them "greedy". Some of their business practices may leave a lot to be desired, but business is business and they just happen to be very good at it. Now Apple, on the other hand, do quite like having a huge markup on their products, but nobody calls THEM greedy.

You say you work for the local government then say you get an education discount? how is that. Do not say they dont just because you dont know how to get it. GO to www.techsoup.org. THe only thing you pay is an admin fee from techsoup themselves. Microsoft also gives out free copies of xp if your school or library meets the criteria. I work for a library and we got office 2007 with 50 copies. 2 copies of windows 2008 64 bit, and 50 device licenses . through this program. Microsoft does more donations then people think .They just dont advertise it.

Ahh but people will still claim they're being evil because by giving the software away to schools, it ensures generations of students are used to it and less likely to pick up a rival's software. Of course, people don't complain when banks give away large overdrafts and various other freebies to students...

MikeChipshop Member Posted December 2, 2008 Member Share Posted December 2, 2008 Great Email and always worth a shot, even if it's just to make the day of the employee that reads it :p We used to get emails occasionally like this in my line of business (Skateboard industry) and we'd always try to find a little something to send :D
