I guess this thread is useless on count of over 90% choose Vista over XP. (Just look at the poll)

Please people, allow this thread to die... no good comes of such trash talk.

It's kinda funny how this was posted in a Windows Vista category, what do you think is going to prevail in the poll? Biased much?

Anyways,

I prefer Windows XP on systems with 2 Cores, and up to 4GB of RAM. If there is more power than that, I prefer Windows Vista (for a Windows OS, anyways), as Windows XP can't take advantage of the extra resources above those specs.

Up until a week ago, I would have said XP (my last Vista experiment was pretty horrid). But I re-installed it earlier this week, and with a little tweaking, I'm loving it. Even my games perform pretty much the same now, and with UAC in silent mode, Vista rocks. :D I've moved to it full-time and ditched XP for good (unless Serious Sam doesn't work in Vista...).

Now I'm just waiting to get Windows 7. :)

well I am not voting since they both have things that are nice. There are many things I don't care for in Vista but that goes the same for XP. So far the only thing I can't take is the fact that my printer is not supported yet (but I am close to a work around) I did spend countless hours tweaking the OS. Folders view was not sticking and I had to edit the registry to fix it. Task Scheduler I don't care for and I don't like that I don't have control over not using it. I have gone into it and turned off every task that has nothing to do with me. I feel the OS was built to accommodate people that are challenged by the Windows OS but does not give a mode to more savvy users. Not sure if I really love the effect on minimize and maximize but I know i can turn it off. I wish you could tweak it to make it a little faster. Who needs effects when they are trying to use the PC??

Oh well everyone has their tastes and needs. For now I will stick it out and use it
