0 BxBoy
that's some pretty good tutorials out there, the most popular is probably FlashKit.
0 sphere
You could go and buy a book. There are lots out there than can teach you it quite easily.
0 aaron901
You could go and buy a book. There are lots out there than can teach you it quite easily. there are too many, i don't know which one to get. any recommendations?
0 CrimsonBlur
make use of the Internet. No point in buying a book about Flash or other standardized applications anymore, really... use FlashKit.
0 BxBoy
on the contrary, books can be quite helpful and useful references..
0 sphere
CrimsonBlur, books are alot more convenient and straight forward when learning a program. I personally don't have one (that's because I took a course in it), but if I really wanted to learn the program a book would be very handy. Something like flashkit.com is great once you really understand the workflow of the program. I use it often if I quickly need to find a bit of actionscript for something. But it's a non-linear resource, and would get a bit frustrating if you are just starting to learn the program. aaron901, you could try something like the Flash Bible. Or you could try something like Teach Yourself Macromedia Flash MX in 24 Hours Take a look here.

0 uniacid
Some PC Tech schools have them, search in your area, also buy a book and also use online sites :), that's what I'm doing to learn php :D
0 sphere
There should be some Flash/Dreamweaver short courses around in your area. I did Flash as part of a module in my dip in multimedia.

0 sphere
Usually the courses will have a list of what they cover. I'd look into them a bit further.

0 sphere
aaron901, If you really want your own site spend some time working on a really neat design and just stick some plain information about you in it. If you plan on adding your own works then just have a gallery link with nothing in it. Then you can add stuff as you go along.

0 sphere
just my info...? I'd take a look around at other peoples sites. If you really don't have much to show then it will be hard to fill your site. Don't just fill it with junk.
0 aaron901
i have looked at a lot of other people sites. basically all of them have portfolio to show... :( i'm thinking to put up a photo gallery (all my trips and events...). can you do that in flash? one question, how do they create the music for use with flash? what format is that? 0 sphere
one question, how do they create the music for use with flash? what format is that? You can use an mp3, wav etc. file. Just have to import it and stick a bit of code in the first frame for it. You can get some music at flashkit.com. Just click on the sound loops link. 0 sphere
Are you using Dreamweaver? If so, select the image and in the properties box (Windows > Properties if it's not open) enter the address in the link field.
0 aaron901
yeah i'm using dreamweaver mx and thats what i did. but the problem is, the image is blue-bordered before it takes me to another page. ah.. forget it, maybe that won't happen when uploaded to a host. :)
0 sphere
You have to remove the boder in the properties or code. Remove the number or just set it to 0.
