How is your launch console?

Recommended Posts

So yesterday marked the 3rd year since the release of the 360 in the UK, meaning your warranty has expired, if you get an RROD it?s now going to cost you about ?60 a pop to get it fixed!

How is your launch console doing if you were lucky enough to get one?

Mines been perfect *touch wood* the only complaint I have is that it now sounds like a jumbo jet taking off even when I have no DVD in the drive!

Launch one broke in just under a year and then when i got a replacement (after i lost my saves, even though they said i'd get it back), i installed the first big fall update on it (the one that bricked consoles) and it bricked it. The third replacement i got has been going strong since i got it back. So about 2 years.

I'm in the same boat as you buddy. Everything has been perfect *touch wood* but it does indeed sound like a jumbo jet taking off!

If mine was to RROD or just die on me, I'd probably end up buying an Eli:) :)

I honestly wouldn't care too much if my console broke now. I've had the RROD once and my console replaced last xmas, but the 360 is so damn cheap now I'd get a better deal buying a new Arcade bundle with some free games (which I could also trade back in) along with the newer hardware.

It would be an inconvenience obviously and it's not me justifying the RROD, I just wouldn't care very much is all..

Still on launch console... never had a problem.... I almost want it to break just so I am now forced to go and pick up an arcade with HDMI. For some reason I cannot connect my xbox to my receiver and still transmit @ 1080p...

don't have one myself but every single one of my friends who has one, has had it replaced at least once... the 360 breaks down more than anything i have ever heard of. and that includes windows ;)

Not a launch unit, but just over a year old.

I almost want it to RROD so I can justify going out and buying a newer less power hungry quieter console.

I got mine a few months before the first revision to 65nm came out. We're at 45nm now I think with the just released arcades.

Plus I want rid of my puke green Halo 360, it's RANK. I'd like a white one. Black would be best, but I wouldn't pay for an elite as I have a 120GB drive.
