[Official] Street Fighter IV & Marvel vs Capcom 2

Abolsutely fine here with the thumb sticks, it works perfectly :)

And after reading about the Madcatz controllers being as bad as ever, I'm glad I didn't buy one now!

Apparently there were only less than fifty complaints, which is pretty good. I am still thinking of getting the TE one if I can find it.

Face-Off: Street Fighter IV

All of which leads us nicely on to the question of which version to buy if you're the owner of both PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. The technical differences are apparent but not intrusive, and the gameplay is identical; if you're into playing online it all comes down to which friends list you'd prefer to be using. Offline, it's close, but 360 gets the nod.

Over and above that, the only other thing you need to know is that the gloriously ultra-cheesy '80s-themed soft rock fest - 'Indestructible' - sounds just as good on either system, so in the final analysis, everyone's a winner.

Playing on the pad on the 360 would make me not want to buy that version. I guess it is down to personal choice but for Street Fighter and in fact any fighter. The PS3 will always get my vote.

Now if I had an arcade stick......

I may wait for unhappy owners to sell their joysticks on eBay before I make the switch :p

I'm happy with the PS3 gamepad so far even if I don't like having kicks on the R2/L2 buttons - will mirror the old SNES button combination.

Is there some trick to pulling off the super/ultra combos? Man it sure does **** me off when instead it does an uppercut or some move I don't wanna do. I went nuts last night in training mode trying to figure it out. It's somewhat easier with the analog stick but in the heat of battle you don't wanna be moving over to the analog to pull off moves.

This game is amazing. Presentation is superb, the characters have a satisfying weigh to them, the sounds are chunky and the characters are beautifully realised. I'm blown away but how brilliant it is.

Really? El Fuerte just suck balls.

People on the PS3 need to fix their router settings. There are so many people that have poor connections. I have to go through like four pages to find someone with a yellow rating. I still haven't played with someone with a green rating.

Akuma is broken!

Why are you guys searching for matches? Just start a match and someone is guaranteed to join within 5 seconds. The game usually won't lag, no matter what the connection rating says. On XBL anyways.

It's just you. I swear it.

The multiplayer system just doesn't seem to work. Mostly the problem is that people on PSN don't have their ports open so sometimes when you do find a game it sucks. Other times when you do a specific search for someone around your skill I still get people that have 1500+ ratings to my ~100. I know I shouldn't be bitching because they are better than me but when I get completely annihilated it doesn't really help me learn at all. I also really need a arcade stick because sometimes the controller just won't recognize what I am doing.

What is all this about opening ports for PSN? I'm behind a router and I never had to open any ports. Online play for me is smooth as butter.

There are two things that need addressing before I smash my game to bits

1. Everyone using Akuma online then all they do is jump back, jump back, diagonal fireball then three-hit fireball. Then the invincible slide.

It's very tedious. Just like everyone picking Barcelona or Manchester United on FIFA. What's the point?

2. Seth - ruining the single-player game. I don't mind a difficult challenge but Seth's cheating is REALLY annoying - it doesn't matter how good you are, his throws are unblockable, he will always dragon punch when you're in the air and his ultra combo is unblockable.

Sort of ruining the game for me, the above two.

Sorry :(

Duh-huh >.>

I played the game at a friend's house and man, it's so hard for me to do some decent combos. It's driving me nuts when all I can do is some basic moves. Any tips? :/
